$90,000 METH SEIZED IN RAIDS

■ Three alleged drug traffickers have been arrested after Police seized large quantities of 1,4 Butanediol and methylamphetamine, as well as cash and weapons across Melbourne’s west on Monday last week (Sep. 2).. Police from North West Metro Regional Crime Squad – who have been building a case for several months – executed three search warrants in St Albans, Sunbury and Altona Meadows. During the searches police seized: ■ 25 litres of 1,4-Butanediol valued at around $75,000 ■ Nearly 450 grams of methylamphetamine valued at around $90,000 ■ Approximately $30,000 in cash ■ Taser ■ Firearm ammunition ■ Two flick knives ■ Electronics including mobile phones and laptops ■ Identification cards A 22-year-old St Albans man was arrested and charged with a raft of offences, including trafficking a large commercial quantity of 1,4 Butanediol, five counts of trafficking a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine, trafficking methylamphetamine, prohibited person attempt to possess firearm, dealing with the proceeds of crime, possess prohibited weapon, possess cartridge ammunition and possess con-

A 39-year-old Sunbury man was arrested and charged with traffick and possess methylamphetamine, possess 1,4 Butanediol, possess cartridge ammunitions, possess prohibited weapon and fail to comply with direction to assist. e was bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on September 4. A 46-year-old Altona Meadows man was arrested in relation to trafficking methylamphetamine. He is expected to be charged at a later date. A 36-year-old man from the Sunbury address and a 19-year-old man from the Altona Meadows address were arrested on unrelated matters.

TOBACCO STORE FIRE, KIDNAPPING ■ Armed Crime Squad detectives, with assistance from the Special Operations Group, have arrested a teenager following an investigation into an alleged kidnapping and tobacco store fire. The 19-year-old boy was arrested following a short foot pursuit in the carpark of a fast-food outlet, at the intersection of Sydney and Barry Rds, in Campbellfield last Tuesday (Sep. 3). He has been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, aggravated home invasion, common law assault and two counts each of criminal damage by fire and theft of motor vehicle. The charges follow an incident on Monday, August 5, where armed offenders allegedly forced entry to a home in Ballarat Rd, Deer Park, about 5am. The victim was allegedly assaulted and forced from the property. He was later released and reported the incident to Police. The charges also relate to a Taskforce Lunar investigation into an alleged tobacco store fire in Ingor St, Ararat on Saturday, July 6. It is alleged on this occasion a suspected accelerant was doused throughout the store before it was set alight. As part of the investigation detectives ex-

ADVANTAGE BIN HIRE ecuted a warrant at a residential home and following the arrest seized a quantity of an alleged drug of dependence and significant amount of cash. The Truganina teen appeared before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday morning (Sep. 4) and was remanded in custody until October 30. The investigation remains ongoing.
