6 MORE CASES IN MITCHELL ■ FEARS are ongoing that Coronavirus cases may migrate from nearby Hume municipality into Mitchell Shire. The number of cases in Hume, as at Monday (July 27), was 810, with 381 of them active. Hume stands at number 3 on the state’s tally of most COVID-19 cases, behind Wyndham and Brimbank.

There are six more virus cases in Mitchell Shire compared to this time last week. As at Monday, Mitchell had registered 33 cases, with 13 of them still active. The number of cases in adjoining municipalities were announced by the Dertment of Health of Human Services: ■ Hume, 810 confirmed cases (ever), 381 active cases (current), ■ Whittlesea, 486, 327, ■ Macedon Ranges, 20, 10, ■ Greater Bendigo, 18, 8, ■ Murrindindi, 2, 0, ■ Strathbogie, 2, 0. There were six new Victorian deaths in the 24 hours before Monday’s announcement.

● Leche Radalj, 13 ■ Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing teenager Leche Radalj. The 13-year-old was last seen at Wellington Square Shopping Centre in Wallan about 3.30pm on Saturday (July 25). Leche is described as 155cm tall with a slim build and dark hair with blue highlights. She was wearing all black clothing and was carrying one black and one brown bag. She is known to frequent the Geelong and Moorabbin areas. Police have released an image of Leche in the hope someone recognises her and can provide information regarding her current whereabouts. Anyone who sights Leche or has information about her whereabouts is urged to contact Geelong Police Station on 5225 3100.
