“One of [the] cases is a general practitioner who worked for several hours at three medical practices while potentially infectious,” said a Department of Health spokesman. “The doctor did not have any symptoms at the time and went into isolation immediately upon being informed they were a close contact of a confirmed case. “The GP worked at Lilydale Medical Clinic on June 11 (Thurs.) and Cedars Medical Clinic in Coburg and Croydon Family Practice on June 9 (Tues.). “All sites are being appropriately cleaned. The Department is contacting all potentially affected patients. As the doctor is asymptomatic, the risk of transmission is low, however if anyone is experiencing any symptoms they should get tested and self-isolate.” To date, 19 people have died from coronavirus in Victoria. There have been 182 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Victoria that have been acquired through unknown transmission. There are currently 47 active cases in Victoria. “Stay 1.5 metres away from anyone you don’t live with and avoid crowds,” said Prof. Brett Sutton, Victoria’s Chief Health Officer.
