Cardinia launches pavilion at Beaconsfield ■ Cardinia Shire Council officially opened the upgraded Perc Allison Reserve pavilion on Thursday (Apr. 29). Perc Allison Reserve pavilion is used by Beaconsfield Cricket Club, Beaconsfield Super Rules Football Club, and Beaconsfield Junior Football Club. It is located in Beaconsfield-Emerald Rd.
The $630,000 pavilion upgrade works included universal and accessible change rooms for players and umpires, and a first aid and injury prevention/strapping room. Cardinia Shire Council Mayor Cr Brett Owen officially opened the pavilion with La Trobe MHR Jason Wood. Cr Owen said Council was pleased to up-
grade the existing pavilion to cater for the fastgrowing community in Beaconsfield. “We are grateful to the [Federal] Government’s Sport Australia Fund for contributing $500,000 to this important upgrade project. “Beaconsfield is part of Melbourne’s growth corridor and experiencing significant
population growth. This results in a strong demand for new recreation facilities in the shire. “The upgraded pavilion at Perc Allison Reserve will not only allow for increased participation in sport in general, it will also assist the clubs to support female participation in sport with universal and accessible change rooms for players and umpires,” Cr Owen said.
