Apartments and retail planned for town’s old fire station site People will have a chance to see new plans for the old Keynsham Fire Station site in Temple Street next week. A drop-in session has been arranged on Thursday 23rd November at the library in Market Walk from 6.30pm to 8pm for comments on plans for 21 apartments and two retail units, prior to a formal planning application being submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council at the end of the month. The scheme is designed for over-55s living, which the owners Chewton Place Developments hope will mitigate the fact there is no provision for car parking. The scheme comprises of 13 one-bed and eight twobedroom apartments spread over three floors with two retail units fronting Temple Street. Market Walk will be extended through the site to provide access to the leisure centre. The fire station closed in 2016 when the new facility

Then in October 2019 the development company Phoenix Group (SW) brought forward a mixed-use development comprising of a 42-bedroom hotel, nine apartments, office space, a restaurant and two retail units.
