TRANSACTIONAL LAWYERING INSTITUTE
The Transactional Lawyering Institute at LMU Loyola Law School provides experiential learning opportunities for students interested in transactional business law. The Institute features a deal negotiation competition, experiential transactional courses, the Transactional Negotiation Team, networking events with practicing attorneys, and externship opportunities to gain experience in transactional practice.
FIELD PLACEMENTS
Experience the up-close, day-to-day workings of a variety of legal institutions by participating in one of the law school’s many externships. Whether a law firm, public interest organization, government office, or state or federal court, you will gain realworld experience working with clients alongside practicing legal professionals at the top of their fields.

JUDICIAL EXTERNSHIPS
Where You’ll Work: in the chambers of a state or federal judge in exchange for unit credit at Loyola. What You’ll Do: externs perform such tasks as file evaluation, legal research or preparation of memoranda, all while seeing up close the innerworkings of one of L.A.’s many state or federal courts.
ENTERTAINMENT AND MEDIA LAW INSTITUTE
The Entertainment & Media Law Institute includes the Entertainment & Media Law Concentration, which features a wide range of adjunct professors currently practicing; curricular roadmaps; and the Entertainment Law Practicum which places students in major motion picture studios, videogame studios, recording companies, sports franchises, and agencies; and much more.

Loyola Immigrant Justice Clinic’s innovative program brings law students to places like Guadalajara, Mexico and El Paso, Texas to offer legal support and bilingual educational resources for migrant populations on both sides of the border.
INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS CENTER
Students in the International Human Rights Center prepare and submit reports on topics like access to abortion in Malawi and the impact of climate change on human rights in the Caribbean, often traveling to other countries to advocate before entities such as the U.N. Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

Loyola Law School was the first law school in the country to enact and mandate throughout its core curriculum a learning outcome devoted to deconstructing systemic inequality. The learning outcome is required in all first-year foundational courses.
