Helen Gilliam of Ashland celebrated her 104th birthday on St. Patrick’s Day (Wednesday, March 17). She lives across the street from the Central Office of Hanover County Public Schools and John M. Gandy Elementary School. Michael Gill, superintendent, was joined by students from Gandy Elementary and others in wishing their neighbor “Happy Birthday”. She is shown with family members, daughter Alma Nelson, grandchildren Tina Wilson, Melvin Bingham and Lee Williams Jr., and daughter Annie Williams.
