ECHANICSVILLE – Megan Bower will receive her diploma on Saturday, June 15, as valedictorian of the Atlee High School Class of 2019. She has a grade point average of 4.73973. her junior year and president her senior year of the Key Club. She was a member of the Atlee Archery Team, and participated on the state, national and world competition teams.

Megan was a member of the Atlee Marching Band, Beta Club, National Honor Society, and German National Honor Society. In her community, she has been a member of the Girl Scouts and received the Gold Award Girl Scout. She served as a member of the Board of Directors her senior year. She attends All Souls Episcopal Church, where she is a Youth Group member, Acolyte, and Sunday School assistant. Megan has served as a volunteer counselor “Buddy� at St. Elizabeth’s camp, a camp for young adults with special needs. She also is involved with Community Bible Study. Standoff Sarah Via continues pursues seat on HCBOS in 97th By Jim Ridolphi for The Mechanicsville Local MECHANICSVILLE -So far, no one is blinking in a continuing battle for the 97th District House of Delegates nomination following a 1st District Committee ruling earlier last week that upheld an appeal by challenger Scott Wyatt. The 22-member panel upheld an appeal by Wyatt’s campaign, in effect legitimizing the May 4 Convention that declared the Cold Harbor District representative on the Hanover County Board of Supervisors the duly elected nominee, but incumbent Chris Peace’s camp is saying not so fast. Following the ruling on Monday night, May 20, Peace issued a statement reaffirming his position that the 1st District had no authorsee 97TH, pg. 19
