Seven pursue HCSB seats By Jim Ridolphi for The Mechanicsville Local Seven citizens threw their hats in the ring for two upcoming Hanover County School Board appointments at the May 8 meeting of the Hanover County Board of Supervisors meeting. In addition to the two incumbents, Ann F.H. Gladstone and Robert Wood, four other residents of the South Anna and Cold Harbor districts announced their intentions to seek the seat. Supervisor Wayne Hazzard, who represents South Anna, will select from Gladstone, current chair of the School Board, and three newcomers. Rutland continues to grow By Jodi Deal jdeal@mechlocal.com Construction at the Rutland community in Hanover County is bringing the 494-home development project closer to completion. Included in the original master plan for the 202-acre

development, the new construction will include single-family dwellings in three price ranges, ranging from town homes to three- to five-bedroom houses, and also will include new office space. Rutland, built on the site of a former plantation, is being
