MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Chuck Meade

Team,

I hope everyone has had a safe and productive spring. As we wrap up the second quarter of 2026, I want to take a few minutes to provide an update on our business, discuss the challenges we faced during the spring selling season, and thank each of you for the hard work and dedication you continue to demonstrate every day.

Seasonal Outlook

Unfortunately, the biggest story of the second quarter was something completely outside of our control—the weather.

Across nearly our entire dealership footprint, we have experienced some of the driest conditions in more than 20 years. If you’re in the lawn mower and hay equipment business, adequate rainfall is one of the biggest drivers of customer demand. Without rain, grass doesn’t grow, hay production slows, and many customers delay equipment purchases.

While there is nothing any of us can do to influence the weather, I am extremely proud of how our team responded during a very challenging spring. Although our first quarter sales were up approximately 20%, the prolonged dry conditions made the second quarter much more difficult. Even with those headwinds, our year-to-date sales remain approximately 5% ahead of last year, which speaks to the outstanding effort of our employees across every department.

The encouraging news is that many of our markets have recently begun receiving much-needed rainfall. If weather conditions continue to improve and the overall economy remains resilient, we are optimistic about the opportunities ahead during the remainder of 2026.

Operational Updates

Our sales organization continues to make progress with the implementation of Anvil. As with any major technology transition, there have been challenges along the way, but we remain committed to working through those issues and ensuring the system delivers the efficiencies we expect. Our objective is to make Anvil work for our business and provide better experience for both our employees and our customers. If we ultimately determine that it cannot meet our long-term needs, we will evaluate other solutions that better support our operations.

We also continue exploring additional technologies to improve efficiency throughout our aftermarket operations. One example is the new Expert Connect phone system currently being piloted at our Mt. Sterling, Bluefield, and Wytheville locations. We believe investments like these will improve communication, enhance customer service, and allow our teams to work more efficiently.

Business Climate

Despite the difficult weather conditions, demand across several areas of our business remains encouraging. The recent return of rainfall has improved customer optimism, and we are hopeful that stronger hay production and lawn maintenance activity will positively impact equipment demand during the second half of the year.

While economic uncertainty continues to exist, we remain encouraged by current market conditions and believe improved weather, combined with resilient customer demand, provides an opportunity to finish the year much stronger than the second quarter would indicate.

Financial Overview

Year-to-date, our overall sales remain approximately 5% higher than last year. However, the extended period of dry weather significantly impacted lawnmower sales, one of our highest-margin product categories.

As a result:

• Overall sales are up approximately 5%

Gross margin dollars are down approximately 2%

• Operating expenses are approximately 8% higher than last year

Profitability is significantly below last year’s pace, primarily due to the impact of reduced high-margin mower sales and continued investments in our people and operations.

While these results are certainly disappointing, they are largely attributable to the unprecedented weather conditions and the resulting impact on our product mix. We remain confident that improved weather, continued focus on operational efficiency, and disciplined expense management will allow us to improve profitability during the second half of the year.

As always, I want to sincerely thank each of you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our customers. The spring season presented challenges that none of us could control, yet your professionalism and teamwork never wavered. That is what makes Meade Tractor special.

The second quarter reminded us that while we cannot control the weather, we can control how we respond. I am confident that with improved conditions, a dedicated team, and a continued focus on serving our customers, we are well positioned to finish 2026 on a strong note.

I look forward to visiting many of our stores over the coming weeks and personally thanking you for everything you do.

Thanks for all you do,

We were honored to receive recognition from Equine Discounts in June for surpassing $1,000,000 in equipment sales to the Equine Industry in 2025.

SAFETY BEGINS WITH ME

HEAT STRESS AND HYDRATION

Hot weather can increase the risk of dehydration, fatigue, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. These conditions can develop quickly, especially when employees are working outdoors, in hot buildings, or wearing PPE for long periods of time. The best defense is to plan ahead, stay hydrated, and recognize the warning signs early.

KEY REMINDERS:

Drink water through out the day.

Take breaks in shaded or cooled areas.

TECHNICIAN OF THE YEAR

2026

MEADE TRACTOR NOMINATION

This prestigious recognition highlights the very best in the John Deere network: technicians who set the standard for expertise, innovation, and service excellence. Their skill and dedication strengthen our dealership and uphold John Deere’s reputation for quality and reliability.

Greetings!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. As we continue down the path of our quarterly newsletter, I wanted to share an important update and thoughts as we head into the second half of the year.

Annual Employee Survey: Following Up—and Following Through

We are continually looking for ways to improve, not only in how we operate, but also how we strengthen our culture.

As I shared in my Employee Satisfaction update email in June, your feedback was clear; you want to have a voice in shaping the future of our company. One of the ways we’re responding is through a series of employee focus groups—one representing each division.

During these sessions, Kelly Gunn and the Division Presidents facilitate open discussions around key topics while listening carefully to your ideas, experiences, and perspectives.

On July 8, Kelly and Kasey Kohl hosted our first focus group with Division 1 at an off-site location. Seven store-level employees participated in thoughtful discussions covering topics such as growth, training, leadership, accountability, and communication.

Division 3 is scheduled to meet during the week of July 20, while Divisions 2 and 4 will hold their sessions in early August.

Our goal is to identify practical, actionable improvements that we can begin implementing right away, while also developing longer-term strategic initiatives that will strengthen our organization for years to come.

Several excellent ideas emerged from the Division 1 discussion, including:

• Refreshing and making better use of our onboarding and training materials for new hires.

• Hold regular department huddles or briefings, potentially as frequent as daily.

• Reviewing our Open Book financial information together as a team each month.

• Creating more opportunities to “break bread together” and strengthen relationships across our teams.

MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT Chad Beasley

These are simple ideas but have the potential to make a meaningful difference in communication, engagement, collaboration, and our overall culture. More importantly, they demonstrate the value of listening to one another and working together to make our company even better.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the second half of the year, I remain optimistic about what lies ahead. While we will certainly face challenges, I have every confidence that we can overcome them through the same teamwork, commitment, and dedication you demonstrated during the first half of the year.

Thank you for everything you do each day. I sincerely appreciate your commitment to our customers, your teammates, and our company. I look forward to building on our momentum together and finish 2026 strong.

Best,
