Mangia Mangia Restaurant Reviews: Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind, authentic Italian restaurant, owned and operated by two brothers from Sicily. Giuseppe and Pietro Cefalu have been making waves in Huntington Beach for years now. While the setting and the site are casual, the food is classic Italian and the service warm and friendly.

The Cefalus proudly serve only the freshest seafood (selected daily), an array of pastas with mouthwatering sauces, as well as signature eggplant dishes and a famous calamari fritti. This bustling favorite with locals is sure to please. Reservations are recommended for parties of four or more.

After culinary school in Italy, the Cefalu brothers worked in the restaurant industry for years, Pietro as Head Chef of some of the finest restaurants in Italy. In the early 1980's the brothers brought their authentic Italian cuisine to America, Giuseppe working on the West Coast, until finally opening Mangia Mangia in 1987. You could easily drown yourself in Marinara at Mangia Mangia, but keep an eye on the beloved restaurant's daily specials and you'll find all manner of Sicilian favorites. Look for the bucatini with roasted cauliflower, pine nuts and raisins that hews as closely to North Africa as it does to the Italian coast. Or opt for the swordfish with grilled eggplant that's dressed with bright, acidic citrus. When you walk in, the smell of garlic makes your mouth water. One of the two Sicilian brothers greets you at the door. The place is a typical mom and pop restaurant, nothing too flashy other than the flat screen playing tour videos of Italy.

Mangia Mangia Italian Restaurant 16079 Goldenwest St Huntington Beach, CA 92647 714 841-8887 Open Monday-Sunday for Dinner Monday- Friday for Lunch We take reservations for parties of 4 or more

Director’s Notes

Can you think of any author who is more recognizable and more beloved than our dear Dr. Seuss? Personally speaking, I learned some of the greatest life lessons through the extravagantly imaginary world of the Sneetches and Whos, the Cat in the Hat and Horton - why I even learned something from the Fox in Socks!! The themes throughout the stories of Dr. Seuss center on confidence, expression, belonging, trust - all the traits I attribute to this senior class. Whether it be on the field, in the classroom or on a stage, these incredible student artists you will see tonight have left an indelible mark on the fabric of Mater Dei High School. They will be attending Ivy League schools, playing Division I sports, writing the next best-selling novel, developing cures for cancer, and most importantly, carrying the values of love, compassion and joy into the world. For a person’s a person, no matter how small. Our world needs to hear these lovefilled voices and our world needs the imagination and the ingenuity that comes from these solution focused young men and women. This quality has been nurtured by examples all around this campus and deserves immense thanks and appreciation: to Steve Ritter and the entire facilities department for your continued support and care; to Anne Gaeta for always making our kids look great; to Lisa Busch for making sure our kids are fed; to Brian Barsuglia and the Monarch Television team for supporting our technical needs; to the myriad of teachers, parents and staff who worked diligently behind the scenes to make this fantastical wonderland come to life; and most notably to Greg Martin for his vision, hard work and dedication to the students and this production - we couldn’t have done this without you all! Unless someone cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it’s not. Along with these incredible people, the senior class has demonstrated poise and resiliency throughout the process as they awaited college acceptances, fought off the wave of senioritis that hits the campus each spring, and has assembled what I believe to be a touching, exciting, unexpected show for you this evening. So sit back and relax. Let us take you to places where no one has been, where thinks are just the beginning, where a small voice can move mountains, and where no one is alone in the universe. How lucky you are!! Mr. Scott Melvin, Director
