Clear Lake’s Lakehouse earns provincial business honour from the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce

One of Clear Lake’s best-known spots has caught the attention of the province.
The Lakehouse in Wasagaming took home a 2026 Manitoba Champions Award, presented by the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce at a ceremony in Winnipeg on
Manitoba Day, May 12.
Most people in the region know it for its restaurant, but the Lakehouse is also a boutique hotel, with 15 guest rooms, a coffee shop, patio, and retail store sitting in the heart of downtown Wasagaming.
The award put the Lakehouse alongside nine other recipients from across Manitoba, recognizing
organizations whose leadership, innovation and community contributions drive economic success and strengthen communities across the province.
For the Lakehouse, the recognition goes beyond the dining room. The business has long stood as proof that rural Manitoba can compete on a larger stage – that a small community inside a national
park can draw people in, keep them coming back and build something worth celebrating. The company has said it believes tourism can strengthen local economies and that places like Clear Lake matter well beyond their own borders.
“It’s especially meaningful to see so many nominations and award winners from rural areas
across Manitoba,” said Chuck Davidson, Manitoba Chambers of Commerce president and CEO. “It speaks volumes about the entrepreneurial spirit and resilience that exists in every corner of our province.”
The Lakehouse operates yearround, serving both visitors and locals through every season.
