Minnedosa Lake’s calm waters in the early morning of Friday, June 5 attracted this lone boat and fishing enthusiast slowly trolling in a location east of the dam with the hope of reeling in a tasty catch. Boat traffic will eventually increase as spring gives way to summer, with campgrounds filling up and cabin owners ready to enjoy the warmth and beauty of the beach area.

Summer is beginning to shine in Minnedosa, with new and familiar attractions offering something for residents and visitors of all ages – from accessible lake access and youth fishing to baseball at the fairgrounds.
One of the most visible new additions is at Minnedosa Beach, where Minnedosa CDC and Tourism has announced the installation of a Mobi Mat near the boat launch. The accessibility upgrade provides a stable, firm surface across the beach, making it easier for wheelchair users, people with mobility challenges and families
pushing strollers to reach the water’s edge.
The new beach access area also includes a dedicated accessible parking stall, courtesy of the Town of Minnedosa, and a new accessible picnic table provided by Minnedosa CDC/Tourism. The Mobi Mat was sponsored by the Minnedosa and District Founda-
tion, with the Town of Minnedosa also credited for installation and support in creating the accessible space.
The project was warmly received online, with many community members praising the initiative as an important step toward making Minnedosa Beach more welcoming for everyone. Several
residents noted how meaningful the improvement will be for families, seniors and people who may not otherwise be able to enjoy the beach as easily.
The addition arrives as Minnedosa’s lakefront prepares for another busy summer season.
