We are proud to highlight our commitment to fostering the skill enhancement of our tradespeople through our in-house Welding Training Program For nearly 25 years, we have provided a unique opportunity for our team members to elevate their expertise in welding and advance their careers Our in-house welding training program is a testament to M Davis’s dedication to employee development
The training is conducted two times a week and is a beacon of excellence within our organization What sets it apart is its voluntary nature – meaning anyone with welding experience can attend training classes and practice the art of welding with a Certified Weld Instructor The higher the skill level passed with a certified weld coupon, the higher the welder can rise!

The program was developed to train welders who come to us through hiring, high school co-op programs, and technical high school students so their skills are honed, and talent is retained Upskilling creates a beautiful opportunity for the team members to earn a higher wage and increase their standard of living
The M Davis location in Kennett Square, PA, houses a dedicated training space with eight weld bays where at their own pace and in their ow the need for developing welders inside the company Relying on th curriculums were developed, and
With 48 welders obtaining 103 ce in the last 12 months alone, we see workforce development s which translates to efficient and p welding for customer projects
At M. Davis & Sons, we are excited to announce the addition of a NEW dedicated nonferrous welding space at our Kennett Square, Pennsylvania fabrication shop. This space meets the ISO9 standards for clean rooms, which guarantee that our processes meet the rigorous demands of regulated industries. Our commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by our adherence to our upgraded Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring quality and precision in our welding operations.
In the coming months, we will begin producing prefabricated spools for upcoming projects. This process will include all aspects of cutting, facing, tacking, and welding to our SOPs, allowing us to deliver superior products with efficiency. Our team of skilled welders is certified to Section IX of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
Our orbital welding services are integral to a variety of industries, including biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, brewery, and food processing. Due to the continual investment M. Davis makes in the training of our exceptional team members, and in the latest equipment, we continue to provide the quality and consistency our customers rely on.

This June, M. Davis & Sons hosted a first-of-its-kind event: a Construction Trades Summer Camp Week for 15 high school students.
This year we partnered with Kennett High School, which is located about 2 5 miles from the M Davis Kennett Square office and fabrication shop
This immersive camp experience aimed at introducing students to various aspects of the construction industry
The camp featured a diverse schedule of activ ed on a different trade:
Monday: Design & Modeling
Tuesday: Plumbing
Wednesday: Welding
Thursday: Electrical
Friday: Rigging
Students had the unique to get hands-on exp ensure safety, we started each day with a safety rundown conducted by Ryan Piselli from our Safety Department. One of the highlights of the camp was that students created their own customized lamp, incorporating skills learned from each trade.
At the end of the week, we celebrated their achievements with a graduation attended by students, teachers, M. Davis instructors and executive leadership.
We recently held the annual M Davis & Sons Apprenticeship Graduation and the John S Bonk Warrior Award presentation
As CEO Peggy (Davis) Del Fabbro states, “Graduates from the State of Delaware Apprenticeship program deserve the same recognition as college graduates ”
With graduates receiving their Journeyman Certificate in their respective Trades, we, as a M Davis & Sons team, celebrated their monumental achievement by hosting a dinner for the team members and their families M Davis President Mike Gilmartin MCed the event and ensured that every graduate was recognized John Gooden, the Chief Operating Officer, made opening remarks to recognize the importance of the Apprenticeship Program
We were honored to have Jazelle Plummer from the Delaware Department of Labor, a respected figure in the field, attend the event and ensure that each graduate was recognized
This annual event also included the presentation of the John S. Bonk Warrior Award to Charles J. Robbins. Charlie is a passionate teacher, mentor, and plumbing expert with master's licenses in many states For over 30 years, Charlie has led projects with wisdom, expertise, and patience His dedication to M Davis, his craft, and the industry makes him a more than worthy recipient of this coveted award.
The John S Bonk Warrior Award was created to honor John Bonk’s integrity an dedication to serving others, recognizing team members who demonstrate the same leadership and values.
Bobby Stump is a talented project engineer who has contributed seven years to growing and developing projects. In the seven years he has worked at M. Davis, his contributions to growing the business have been remarkable.
In a world where service and convenience mean everything, Bobby is one of the key people who recognize that the construction trades, services, and engineering allow M. Davis to be a “One-Stop Shop” for our customers.
Bobby has recently been named the International Society of Automation’s Wilmington Section Membership Chair for 2025. Bobby's knowledge and experience with ISA have improved the electrical work under his supervision.
