XTRALIFE Superior Corrosion Performance

Railway X™ fence® has been specifically designed to suit the requirements and longevity that is required by the railway network. The regulations of the railway act require railways to be fenced from trespass and vandalism, as well as to keeping livestock and debris off the tracks. This has put considerable costs on the infrastructure of the railway. McVeigh Parker’s own specification X™ fence® and Clipex post solution have been designed to save the industry money and reverse the trend of escalating costs.

Manufactured from highest quality primary metals only, which guarantee consistent tensile strength every time. 95% Zinc 5% Aluminium coating (known as XTRALIFE) lasts 2-3 times longer than standard galvanised wire. 24% stronger X™ knot joint, independently trialled. Details on request 450mm pre-stripped both ends for ease of tying off. The extra benefits of Alu/Zinc XTRALIFE coated wire are that it is more ductile and more resistant to fatigue. All this and superior corrosion resistance too. One-piece vertical wire for added strength and easier erection.

McVeigh Parker are approved by National Railway Supplies Limited under Link-up Certificate number 25649 for the supply of fencing materials. McVeigh Parker maintains substantial stocks ready for rapid delivery to contractors’ distribution yards or suitable track side locations. Mechanical off-load facilities are available when required. Sole stockist and distributor of Clipex fencing in the UK and Ireland.

Smaller vertical wire spacing’s only 75mm between verticals. The British Standard EN10244-2 coating lists a sacrificial zinc coat of 230 grm-2. X™ fence® Railway exceeds these standards significantly with a Alu/Zinc alloy coating which offers an extended life protection. Railway fencing exceeds European Standards for strength and galvanisation.
