From The Director Wilkommen. Bienvenue. Welcome. You are about to enter the world of Kander and Ebb’s Cabaret. The music is upbeat, the dancing is spectacular, the costumes are sexy but the topic is serious and highly relevant today. Cabaret examines the repercussions of a polarized political climate in pre-Nazi Germany. In Fraulein Schneider and Herr Schultz’s relationship, we see the heartbreaking personal ramifications of divisiveness. We need to examine our past with clear eyes so that the prejudice and bigotry that ultimately culminated in the Holocaust never again occurs. We hope that our show both entertains and provokes thoughtful discussion. We are so happy to welcome you back to MCT’s first in-person production at Shannondell in two years. COVID has been so isolating for all of us and for those of us who love theater it has been wonderful to rehearse together again and reestablish our community. Now we get to add the final piece that makes our community complete-our audiences. “What good is sitting alone in your room? Come hear the music play...”

MEET THE CAST & CREW Tim April (Kit Kat Boy-Victor/Sailor/Ape) Tim is excited to reunite with a great production team, director, and even some former cast members to return to the stage (finally) after 7 years! Previous roles include parts in the ensemble of MCT’s The Producers (and stepping in twice for Carmen when the real Carmen got laryngitis) in 2014; with the King of Prussia Players as Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz in 2013; and Fyedka in Fiddler on the Roof in 2012. By day, Tim works in Human Resources at Amerisource Bergen and lives in King of Prussia with his wife of 20 years, Holly, and their sons. Jonathan (16) is a busser at Paladar and a soccer player at Upper Merion Area High School; Sean (13) is an aspiring dog sitter and Instagram artist. Tyler Ball (Kit Kat Boy- Herman) Tyler is excited be appearing in his first stage show with MCT. He is honored to be part of this amazing and talented cast including his beautiful wife of 20 years, Jenny. This marks the first show in 22 years where they will be appearing on stage together! Many thanks to his friends and family for their love and support.
Jenny Ball (Kit Kat Girl) Jenny is delighted to be making her debut at MCT and appearing on stage with her husband (Tyler Ball) for the first time in decades. When she is not portraying a cabaret dancer, she is a professor of advertising at Temple University. Thanks to the production staff for making possible this opportunity to perform again!
Emma Bartholomew (Kit Kat Girl – Lulu) Emma has been singing and dancing with MCT since 2018. When she’s not on stage, Emma works in project management and spends her free time showing people pictures of her cat, looking for snacks, and wiggling at Zumba class.
Kelly Curtis (Kit Kat Girl) Kelly is a newcomer to MCT and is really excited to be dancing in Cabaret. She was last seen performing in A Christmas Carol for Willow Manor Players and Mamma Mia! for Jenkintown Music Theatre. A heartfelt thank you goes out to her husband and kids for their love, support, and encouragement! A special thanks to the talented cast, crew, and production team for all of their incredible work. Justin Damm (Cliff ) Justin is thrilled to have the opportunity to work again with Deb and all the talented people here at MCT on a dream show. Justin is a graduate of Villanova’s Masters of Theatre program and works as a Physics Teacher for Upper Merion Area High School where he directs the musical for The Underground Players. Justin previously appeared on the MCT stage as Kodaly in She Loves Me and Sky in Guys and Dolls. Other favorite roles include Frank in Catch Me if You Can, Gabe in Next to Normal, Melchior in Spring Awakening, Bobby Strong in Urinetown, Reuben in The Devon Theatre’s Joseph... Dreamcoat (Barrymore Nomination). Justin would like to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who made this show possible, especially his wife, Kim, and his kids who were supportive of getting him back on stage.
MEET THE CAST & CREW Laura Donnelly (Sally Bowles)
Laura is thrilled to be back at MCT! Previous MCT credits include Vibrata (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), and Eva Peron (Evita). Laura has also performed at SALT Performing Arts as Kate McGowan (Titanic) and at Footlighters Theater as Erma (Anything Goes). Regional Credits include Beth (Little Women), Columbia (Rocky Horror Picture Show), Crystal (Little Shop of Horrors), and Fiona (Shrek). A graduate of West Chester University, she is now a French teacher in Chester County after having spent the last 3 years traveling and teaching in Europe and the Caribbean. Laura is also mother to a viral sensation/ celebrity cat, Fleabag (Insta: @fleabewallerbridge, TikTok: @ fleabagsmom). Big thanks to Deb, Erin, Lauren, Elisabeth, Harvey, Michelle, and the rest of the crew. Love you, mom and dad!
Rob Frankel (Kit Kat Boy- Hans) Rob Frankel is in this show! He has said words, sang songs, and moved in a dance-like manner in other shows over the years. Rob is gushing with excitement to have the chance to return to the stage after the last year and half off. Rob is also available for brunches.
Mary Beth Gries (Kit Kat Girl – Helga, Co-Dance Captain) Mary Beth is so grateful to be back onstage! Recent performances include The Drowsy Chaperone (Kitty), The Addams Family (Dance Captain), West Side Story (Anybodys), and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Gypsy). Many thanks to the production team for their leadership and passion during this production process, and much love to her fiancé, Chris.
Nina Harper (Fraulein Kost) Nina is excited to be making her MCT debut! Nina earned her MA in Theatre from Villanova University. She was fortunate enough to work with many members of this cast and crew when she played Donna in Mamma Mia! at Jenkintown Music Theatre. Her favorite roles include Morticia in The Addams Family, Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate, Aldonza in Man of La Mancha, and Velma in Chicago. Much love to her sweet girls, Ani and Evie.
Kelly Jusczak (Kit Kat Girl) Kelly is thrilled to be back performing on stage after almost two years! This is her second show with MCT, having performed in The Hunchback of Notre Dame with in 2018. Other favorite shows she’s performed in include Mamma Mia!, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Addams Family, The Fantasticks, Oliver!, and Anything Goes. She would like to thank the entire cast and production team for their time and dedication, especially our incredible choreographer, Lauren. Enjoy the show!
Connor Kealey (Kit Kat Boy - Bobby) Connor is joyfully returning to the stage in his MCT debut. He has performed with Jenkintown Music Theatre and Village Players of Hatboro, among others and is excited and grateful to be doing this show with friends, both new and old. Connor thanks his family, friends, cast, and crew for all their love and support.
MEET THE CAST & CREW Elisabeth Majewski (Costume Designer) Elisabeth is a retired adjunct English professor, who 12 years ago started volunteering at the drama department of her daughter’s high school. Currently, Majewski is a busy costume designer, involved with several community theaters. In 2018, she was the joint prize winner for costume design, awarded to her by Broadway World Philadelphia for MCT’s production of Beauty and the Beast. She won the same award a year later for her designs for The Addams Family, also produced by MCT.
Colin Mash (Emcee)
Colin is ecstatic to be BACK on the stage after 1 1/2 years of not being able to do live theater. He is currently a sophomore musical theater major at Temple University. His previous roles include Dr. Frank-N-Furter in Killer Instinct: A Villainous Cabaret at Temple University, Ren McCormack in Footloose at The Barn Playhouse, Nino Quincampoix in Amélie the Musical at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School (shut down 1 week before opening). Since the pandemic, Colin has appeared in film as the lead in a short film with Fairleigh Dickinson University and choreographed Colonial Middle School’s theater program and Upper Merion Township’s Consortium for the Arts summer program. His next project is choreographing for Annie Jr. at Colonial Middle School this spring! Colin is so grateful to Deb Schrager, the entire cast and production team for giving him a chance to shine in his dream role at just nineteen years old. He has felt so welcomed and loved by everybody involved. He hopes you enjoy the show just as much as he does. He gives a special shout-out to his loving, supportive family and friends, especially Mom, Nicole, Mike, Miss Venkus, Hailey, Hannah, and Brooke!
Maura McColgin (Kit Kat Girl) Maura is so thrilled to be joining MCT for the first time! She studied Musical Theatre at West Chester University and has been featured in many professional works including OffBroadway and regional productions. She is grateful to be back to performing again! Maura would like to thank Mom and Dad for the support.
Dr. Lauren McGinnis, PT, DPT (Choreographer)
Lauren is thrilled to return to her first passion; dance! Lauren’s previous work with MCT includes: Hunchback of Notre Dame (Florika, Gypsy, Dance Captain), Beauty and the Beast (Choreographer), Music Man (Choreographer). King of Prussia Players: Avenue Q (Choreographer, Christmas Eve), Sweet Charity (Assistant Choreographer, Dance Captain, Fandango Dancer), Chicago (Katalin Hunyak, Dance Captain), Gypsy (Choreographer), Footloose (Choreographer, principal dancer), Music Man (Choreographer) and Fiddler on the Roof (Choreographer). St. Andrew School: High School Musical Jr. (Director/Choreographer), Cinderella Kids (Director/Choreographer), Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr (Director/Choreographer). Lauren’s second passion is connecting her two worlds as a Performing Arts Physical Therapist. She would like to thank her production crew and her fabulous Kit Kat dancers for all their hard work and courage!
Steve Montgomery (Herr Schultz) This is Steve’s tenth appearance with MCT. Some roles include Mysterious Man (Into The Woods), Fagin (Oliver), Arvide Abernathy (Guys And Dolls), Senex (Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum), Mr Potter (It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play), and multiple rolls in The Producers, Evita, and She Loves Me. He is retired, as is his lovely wife, Yvonne, and in addition to theater, they keep busy traveling, kayaking, cycling, hiking, volunteering in the community, and hanging out with their grandchildren. Steve is delighted to be working with this wonderfully talented cast and efficient crew!
Barbara Newberry (Orchestra Director) Barbara is a former high school band director who remains actively involved in music through her involvement in local community theater either playing woodwind instruments in the pit orchestra, serving as music director, and/or conducting. Barbara continues to teach instrumental music via private lessons and plays clarinet in The Wind Symphony of Southern NJ. Barbara’s passion for music is equaled by her husband Aaron who she met in a pit orchestra!
MEET THE CAST & CREW Kenneth Olin (Ernst Ludwig) Ken has found a welcome home with MCT, appearing in several of their productions in recent years, namely It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, She Loves Me (Headwaiter), Little Women (Mr. Laurence), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (King Louis XI), SHOUT, The Battle of Shallowford (Fred Martin), and My Fair Lady (Jamie, Butler), starting with The Producers in 2015. He looks forward to finally performing in their longdelayed production of Lend Me a Tenor in May 2022. Other favorite shows with other companies include Urinetown, Ragtime: The Musical, Spamalot, The Drowsy Chaperone, Gypsy, and The Music Man.
Janice Orner (Fraulein Schneider) Janice is thrilled and grateful to be cast in this emotional & compelling role. A veteran of many shows in front and behind the scenes, some of Jan’s favorite roles include Fred in Once Upon a Mattress, Nellie in South Pacific and Annie in Annie, Get Your Gun. She wants to thank the production team for casting her - as well as mentoring this very talented cast through a show taking place in a very dark time in our history. A special shout out to my husband, kids, Barb, and Tommy for the support! Enjoy the show and thanks for supporting live theater in our community!!
Harvey Perelman (Stage Manager, Set Design, Head Carpenter) This is Harvey’s 25th year in community theater and 8th with MCT. Harvey has also been involved with Narberth Community Theatre, Lower Moreland High School, Jenkintown Music Theatre, and The Beth Sholom & Adath Jeshurun Players. He wishes to thank everyone involved who helped make this show happen. He loves the process of meeting with the artistic staff and creating the look of the show. He loves that his wife, Ilene, is a part of his theater world and is very happy to be back in the theater.
Ilene Perelman (Props, Stage Crew) This is Ilene’s 25th year participating in community theater and her 8th show with MCT. She has been the property mistress during that time as well as working on stage as part of the crew. She has acquired the props and worked back stage for Narberth Community Theatre, Jenkintown Music Theatre, Lower Moreland High School and Beth Sholom & Adath Jeshurun Player’s. Ilene loves working alongside her husband, Harvey, and is glad to be back in the theater.
Suzanne Rainear (Kit Kat Girl - Texas) Suzanne is glad to be back on stage after a 4-year theater hiatus. She was last seen on stage in Urinetown (Little Becky Two Shoes) at Playcrafters. Her last MCT production was Guys and Dolls (featured dancer). She recently graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Public Relations with a Minor in Marketing and a Minor in Arts and Entertainment Management. By day, she plays a deposit operations specialist at a local bank. She would like to thank all of her friends and family for their continued love and support. “Yeehaw!”
Clare Reckner (Kit Kat Girl) Clare is thrilled to perform alongside the talented Cabaret cast in her first MCT production! During her undergraduate years, she performed with Villanova Student Musical Theatre in Into the Woods (Cinderella), The Drowsy Chaperone (Drowsy), and The Addams Family (Morticia). She would like to thank the wonderful production team of Cabaret, her family, and friends for their support-especially Kelly who introduced her to MCT! Clare is incredibly grateful to be back on the stage and hopes everyone enjoys the energy of live theater!
MEET THE CAST & CREW Deb Schrager (Director) Deb is delighted to be returning to her MCT family. She has previously directed: She Loves Me, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Evita, Guys and Dolls, The Producers and Into the Woods for MCT. She is the director of the Savoy Light Opera Company. She has also directed Mamma Mia!, Chicago, Titanic and Urinetown for Jenkintown Music Theatre. Onstage favorite roles have included Old Edith in Grey Gardens, Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, Anna in The King and I and Aldonza in Man of La Mancha. Jenn Smith (Kit Kat Girl) Jenn is overjoyed to be back on stage and working with Deb. This is her first show with MCT. This show makes the third Kander and Ebb show Jenn is appearing in. Previously, she performed in the ensembles for Curtains (The Barn Playhouse) and Chicago (KOPP). Jenn thanks Deb and Lauren for giving her this opportunity to dance again after almost two years.
Lisa Starke (Kit Kat Girl - Frenchie) Lisa is thrilled to be back on stage with this talented cast. This is Lisa’s first performance with MCT. She has performed with Jenkintown Community Theatre, Willow Manor Players, and King of Prussia Players. Some of her favorite roles include, Roxy (Chicago), Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins), and Mother (Ragtime). When not on stage, Lisa enjoys Pilates, making people happy with her therapy dog, Opal, and being with her beautiful kids and hubby.
Tom Stumme (Kit Kat Boy-Wilhelm)
Tom is excited to be a part of his first show with MCT. Most recent credits include: 2020- Tarzan: The Musical (Ensemble, Dance Captain), 2019- 9 to 5: The Musical (Dick, Dance Captain) at Theatre Non-Conforming, 2019- 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Leaf Coneybear) at The Barn Playhouse, 2016- The Addams Family (Choreographer) at Forge Theatre, 2016- Catch Me if You Can (Choreographer) at the Barn Playhouse, 2016Rent (Angel/Choreographer) at Playcrafters in Skippack, 2016The Wedding Singer (Director) at Narberth Community Theatre. Shelsy Tity (Kit Kat Girl - Fritzie) Shelsy is thrilled to be part of her 1st MCT production! Some of her past performances include The Drowsy Chaperone, Into the Woods as Florinda, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as Judah, West Side Story, and 42nd Street as Diane Lorimer. Erin Toscani (Music Director) Erin has served as Music Director, Vocal Director, Conductor, and Accompanist in 11 MCT shows over the past 9 years. Cabaret marks her return to the actual stage, and she is beyond thrilled to share the stage with this cast, band, and crew. Erin is an elementary school music teacher and mom to 3 beautiful children, ages 4, 6, and 9. Many, many thanks to Deb for the invitation to be a part of this team (and for tolerating her intolerable schedule); to Barbara for being a great partner in crime; and to the cast, band, and production team for being such a great group to work with. Biggest shout out to her husband, Peter, for holding down the fort at home while she pursues her happy place of being in the theater!
MEET THE CAST & CREW Dustin Lee Yenser (Max, Conductor) Dustin is glad to be involved in his sixth show with MCT. He previously appeared as Steve in last summer’s virtual production of Hope and Gravity and as Captain Hook in Peter Pan. He served as a producer for SHOUT! The Mod Musical. He would like to thank his wife, Becky, for her support.
Rebecca Yenser (Kit Kat Girl- Rosie/Co-Dance Captain) Rebecca is thrilled to return for her ninth show with MCT. She received her BA degree from Penn State University in Theatre/ Dance Performance. When she isn’t busy shaking what the good Lord gave her, she enjoys playing board games with her husband, Dustin.
