A Note from the Director: MCT’s summer show has a reputation in the local theater community for being big, extravagant, and so much fun! This is the time slot where we usually put a Disney show, Annie, or Shrek – a show that would sell out to an audience full of kids. Believe it or not, that was not the original goal of MCT’s Summer Show. 45 years ago, MCT was founded on the idea that families should have a place where everyone can participate together. New faces are always welcome and no one is cut. In producing Big Fish, we are making sure that that founding principle lives on! 19 members of our cast are brand new to MCT and, of the 50 people on our production’s contact sheet, 20 of them are related to someone else! And as the director of these beautiful people, I have the best job – I get to watch! Have you ever watched someone watching someone that they love? It’s like in a cartoon where the person gets all glowy and hearts pop out of their eyes, but much subtler and much more special. There is so much joy in watching a parent pour their heart into a scene and then run offstage to grab their camera because their child is about to make their stage debut. Or in a person giving their spouse a little wink or hand squeeze before they go onstage when they think no one is looking. Over time, you start to notice chosen families emerging as well. These are the people who came into the show alone but are leaving with 5 new contacts in their phone, jokes that no one else understands, and, in very special cases, a person that may change their life forever. This is what the Summer Show is really about – growing the MCT family with new generations and new friends. Big Fish, a show about love and family – biological and chosen - is the perfect place for all of this. It might not be the show that fills the audience with kids, but it is going to make you go home and hug your kids (or parents) a little tighter. I hope you leave today feeling a little of the love that is on stage. Now, if you need me, I’ll be the one in the back row, sobbing through the closing number. Enjoy the show! - Nicolette Adams

MEET THE CAST & CREW Jenny Ball (Dance Ensemble) Jenny is happy to be dancing on the MCT stage again after appearing last fall as a Kit Kat Club dancer in Cabaret. She’s been “hooked” since the first time she heard the music for Big Fish, so it has been a “reel” joy to do the show with a cast and crew that gets along so swimmingly and can really make a splash! When she is not writing puns or performing in theater, she is a professor of advertising at Temple University and plays her favorite roles of Tyler Ball’s wife and Julia & Keaton’s mom.
Julia Ball (Ensemble/Wilson) Julia is excited to be following in her family’s footsteps for her first ever theater performance. In her spare time, Julia likes to draw, play the piano, and hang out with her friends. She thanks her parents for encouraging her to join them on stage and her dance teachers for preparing her to take on challenges like the Alabama Stomp!
Tyler Ball (Edward Bloom) Tyler is super excited to spend his summer taming mythical creatures, stopping deadly assassins, saving a town from drowning, and fighting dragons all while working out father/ son issues and wooing the love of his life with millions of daffodils - whew! Even better, he gets to do all this and share his dream role with his daughter Julia in her first ever musical and his beautiful wife Jenny. Tyler is honored to be part of this amazing and talented cast and crew – the true Big Fish of the show! He hopes you all have a fish stomping, time stopping, cannon blasting helluva good time!
Allison Baron (Ensemble) Allison hopes that Time Stops for you while you enjoy hearing about Ashton’s Favorite Son. This is Allison’s third show onstage with MCT, as she’s twice as likely to be found working on costumes. Thank you to the cast and crew for the laughs and the workouts. Allison also wants to thank Rebecca and Lindsay for all of their support.
Rebecca Begnaud (Ensemble) Becca is happy to join the cast of MCT’s Big Fish! Previous credits include Three Musketeers at Colonial Playhouse (Sabine), West Side Story at Footlighters (Consuela), Christmas Carol at Newtown Arts Company (Narrator), Wizard of Oz at TBI (Dance Captain), and Twelfth Night at MCCC (Fabian). Erica would like to thank her friends and family for listening to her practice the Alabama Stomp over and over and over and over again! She hopes you enjoy the show!
MEET THE CAST & CREW Greg Berlin (Karl) Greg has been a long time singer as a member of the Mainliners Barbershop Chorus, and is excited to get back into stage acting after a 42 year hiatus. Standing 6’8” off of the stilts, playing a giant came to him pretty easy - it was the stilts that were the challenge! If the acting doesn’t work out, he figures he now has the skills for a second career as a drywall hanger. He would like to thank his wonderful wife Sandy for her patience and understanding while he tries yet another adventure...
Giavanna Bruno (The Witch) Giavanna is incredibly excited to be part of her first MCT production! In the past, she has participated in productions such as Shrek: The Musical, Radium Girls, and Mulan. Alexis Bullock (Ensemble) Alexis will be entering 8th grade at Haverford Middle School, and she is pleased to be making her community theater acting debut with MCT. She previously appeared in a cabaret at Narberth Community Theatre this past winter. Active in vocal music at school, she also actively enjoys figure skating. Thanks to Nicolette, Heather, Suzanne, and the rest of the production team for the wonderful opportunity, and thanks to family and friends for their encouragement and support.
Gary Bullock (Ensemble) Gary is pleased to be returning to the MCT stage for the seventh time, and especially happy to have his granddaughter, Alexis, joining him. Over the past twenty-five years, he’s been involved in about fifty productions at various area community theaters. Favorite roles include the Cowardly Lion (Wizard of Oz), Ensign Pulver (Mr. Roberts) and Big Jule (Guys and Dolls). Thanks to Nicolette, Heather, Suzanne, and the rest of the production team for assembling a very talented cast, and, as always, thanks to the Bullock family, especially Marlee, who’s always been my hero, for their love and support. To my children and grandchildren: I never wanted to be your hero; I just wanted to help you to be your best self. Love to all!
Dani Cantor (Ensemble) Dani is thrilled to be Alabama Stomping back onto the MCT stage for her first musical since the before times. He is looking forward to his roles in the ensemble and wants to thank the producers for this opportunity. He also wants his family to know he appreciates their support.

She is the former Artistic Director of The Swarthmore Chorale, and the former Assistant Conductor of the Mendelssohn Club. The Harrisburg Patriot News praised her as a conductor who “clearly knows music and how to bring the best of it from choral groups”. BSharp Productions’ review stated, “The most important person at this performance was Raquel García. She was very in tune to the music that surrounded her. García was so hypnotic in her movement that one could feel the emotion just by looking at her. It is no wonder that the choir sounded so passionate and expressive - it is because of her guidance. The music danced as she danced, and the music cried as she cried.” Ms. García’s most recent musical theater productions include Secret Garden, Seussical, South Pacific, Evita, Hairspray, Little Mermaid, Honeymoon in Vegas, Beauty and the Beast, Billy Elliot, West Side Story, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Next to Normal and A Little Night Music.
