VINTAGE FLY-PAST But what will it be?

Many thanks to the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) Every year we apply to BBMF for a flypast for REVIVAL. It’s always a bit of a long shot, but a real treat when we get it.

We are delighted to get a Fly-past again for 2026!

We know we have a vintage plane flypast. Right now, it’s scheduled for about 3pm – but that could change. Follow our Mountsorrel REVIVAL Facebook page for all the latest updates and information.

Welcome to the 11th What an amazing sunshine filled day we had last year! The centre of the village was packed with generations enjoying a fun packed family atmosphere that felt like a celebration of everything that makes Mountsorrel so special.

Find your REVIVAL map, What’s Where and Timetable of performances in handy pull-out centre pages of this programme REVIVAL Favourites: A favourite over recent years, that’s had everyone looking to the skies, has been the incredible vintage plane flypast – which is confirmed again for 2026! Everyone loves the noise and colour of our REVIVAL parade, along with fancy dress competitions on

the Green and other traditional village competitions upstairs in the MMC, to the sound of bands, music and dance on The Green, classic vehicles, entertainment at The Waterside, climbing wall at Leisure Centre, to donkey rides, axe throwing, laser clay pigeon shooting on the main field – with stalls and more across each location.

2026 sees the return of Zorb Football, mini–Land Rover rides and Emergency Services display. There’s the Punjab Bhangra Crew, Sambando, Brass band, Quorn Ukuleles, Morris Dancers, Burlesque Dancers, Mr Tumble Tribute, Steel band, DJs and singers across various locations. What’s your favourite?

Soar Valley Leisure Centre will again host a range of inclusive activities, provided in a safe space in their main hall, removed from the business of the day.

New Attractions: Look out for a new fairground ride for adults on Little Lane car park, the Scalextric track for all ages upstairs in the MMC, Mountsorrel Gymnastic display team Head over Heels performing in the main arena and there’s also a great new scavenger hunt for younger ones to look out for and more!

Epic Eats & Treats: You told us how much you loved the new food court area. This year we’re adding more seating to make it an even better place to relax and enjoy your favourite treats, along with our Churches offering a quiet cool friendly place for refreshments, not forgetting our local cafes and bars. You’ll not be short of choice!

Parade, Classic Cars & Fun-run: Line the streets and get ready to cheer from 12 noon for the popular Mountsorrel Juniors fun run, followed by the noise and colour of our legendary Parade with classic vehicle Parade Rides raising money for LOROS. Marketplace: More stalls than ever! Crafts, local produce, community stalls and much more, stretching right across the event.

PARADE & FUN RUN photos, lost & found

Parade & Fun Run Rout The Revival Parade and Fun Run will begin at 12 noon from CARSA Cars, near Bond Lane, and proceed up the road to the Mountsorrel Memorial Centre (MMC). From there, it turns right at the roundabout, following the road up The Green, where participants and vehicles will disperse.

FOR YOUR SAFETY To ensure everyone enjoys the day safely: The route will be closed to traffic during the parade and Fun Run. It will reopen after the parade with a 10mph speed limit.

The Green will remain closed.

Do not join the parade once it has begun.

Our friendly Marshals will be stationed along the route in high-viz jackets. Please follow any guidance they give.

Please stay on the pavements PHOTOS Many visitors love to capture the spirit of REVIVAL and we love to share photos on our social media channels and future publications. We have our own official event photographers on hand to help preserve those special moments. They’ll be wearing high-visibility

The LOST CHILD POINT is located by the DJ stand near the Cricket Pavilion on the main field. Children will be safely cared for by Anthony Marvin and team. They’re in good hands, Anthony is our Mountsorrel Youth & Community Officer.

LOST PROPERTY items will be held at the Mountsorrel Memorial Centre (MMC) for safe keeping and collection.

About Us Mesothelioma is a rare, aggressive cancer caused by asbestos exposure. Mesothelioma UK is the national charity for anyone affected by mesothelioma. Our HQ is in Mountsorrel.

We exist to support people with mesothelioma to live better and live longer and to prevent mesothelioma happening to future generations. We work closely with partner organisations to raise awareness of asbestos and to shine a light on the devastating impact of mesothelioma.

Our Charitable Activity The focus of our charitable activity is providing access to specialist Clinical Nurse Specialists in hospitals nationwide who can:  Provide specialist expertise and advice  Provide access to clinical trials  Increase the number of patients able to access specialist treatments  Improved management of symptoms and quality of life  Help with benefits, compensation claims, and clinical trials  Support better symptom management and fewer unplanned admissions  Provide a stronger patient voice driving research, treatment, and policy

Join the free Revival Wildflower Scavenger Hunt!

Hidden around The Green and the Mountsorrel Memorial Centre (MMC) area are seven painted wildflowers, each containing a hidden letter. Collect all seven letters to reveal the name of a special wildflower!

How it works: Once you have found all seven letters, unscramble them to make the name of our mystery wildflower. When you have the name, find a member of our REVIVAL team – they’re the ones in the ORANGE (not yellow) hi-vis jackets, or go to our Event Control at the Parish Rooms to claim your FREE Scavenger Hunt Superstar sticker.

Mountsorrel Castle Hill War Memorial Centenary Commemoration Saturday 15th August 2026 Mountsorrel Parish Council, together with the Mountsorrel Branch of the Royal British Legion, are inviting everyone to come together for a special ceremony marking 100 years of the Castle Hill War Memorial.

Erected in 1926 to honour the local men who gave their lives in the First World War, and later updated to include those who fell in the Second World War, Castle Hill War Memorial remains a proud and important part of Mountsorrel’s history, remembrance, and community.

HELP OUR HOGS Hedgehogs are now classified as vulnerable to extinction. Mountsorrel is fortunate to have a small active population of hedgehogs, but they need our help. Here’s 2 small actions that will make a real difference.

Bowl of fresh water A shallow dish of fresh water is a real lifesaver in this heat. Add a few stones so bees and butterflies can drink safely too.

Hedgehog highway Create a small gap between gardens so hedgehogs can roam and forage freely.

Soar Valley Bowls Club A Welcoming, Friendly Environment for All

Soar Valley Bowls Club is a warm, inclusive place where everyone is welcome, whether you’re completely new or already experienced. New members are always welcome.

Come Along and Have a Go Try bowls with no obligation to join. Bring the family, enjoy the fresh air, and finish your visit with a free cup of tea or coffee in our clubhouse. All equipment is provided, but you’ll need flat soled shoes to protect our green.
