I am not married, nor am I engaged. But if I was, I now know how much effort goes into a wedding.

Venues, celebrants, flowers, cakes, suits, dresses, entertainment, catering, hair, photography, transport. It never stops.

Luckily for district residents and those planning their weddings in Echuca-Moama, there is no shortage of wedding services among the twin towns.

Sweet Trends

Rustic and country wedding cake designs are becoming increasingly popular, according to Tracy’s Cakes owner Tracy Luscombe.

The Echuca-based cake designer and maker said a lot of couples were thoughtfully matching the design of their cake to the theme of their wedding.

Tracy said couples were leaning towards fresh flowers on their cakes instead of edible ones.

Tracy has been making cakes for 21 years and still enjoys the feedback and stories she receives regarding her creations.

Generally the cake acts as the dessert, feeding guests or being used as a bonbonniere gift box to take home.

‘‘Sometimes people give me an idea or we work on it together,’’ she said.

Tracy said it was great to see the design created on paper evolve into the centrepiece of your special day.

‘‘It’s awesome to see it come to life and hear the feedback from the guests at the wedding.

“A lot of detail goes into making your cake perfect in every way.”
