COACH OF THE YEAR / SPIRIT OF SPORT TEAM OF THE YEAR
(VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR)
Spirit of Sport Award (Volunteer/administration award) • The period of consideration is January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013 • Nominees must reside in The Riverine Herald circulation area. However if the nominee has moved out of the Riverine Herald circulation area they must represent a sporting club, team or individual within the circulation of the Riverine Herald to be eligible. • The award is presented to an individual who has achieved outstanding contribution in respect to their role at club, state, national or international level • This award is to recognise those who work tirelessly to promote and conduct local sporting events and competitions • A person who gives for the benefit of a sports club, has contributed extraordinary contribution, fosters a positive focus on personal development within the club • Demonstrated excellence in their role as an official of their chosen sport, excels in all aspects, role model to others, displays immense personal pride • Award recipients will be selected by the Sportstar Judging Committee • Finalists will be selected and invited to the Sportstar Awards Dinner with the winner announced on the night • Nominations must include a completed official nomination form and attach any relevant information in the current year also detailing paid or voluntary position. However if the nominee has moved out of the Riverine Herald circulation area they must represent a sporting club, team or individual within the circulation of the Riverine Herald to be eligible. • The award is presented to an individual who has achieved outstanding contribution in respect to their role at Club, State, National or International level • Coaching can either be in a volunteer or professional capacity • A good role model and communicator • Instrumental in helping to develop athletes to their full potential • Works to maximize the social, intellectual and physical well being of athletes • Nominees will be judged on the philosophy they bring to their respective sport, the positive values they instill in their athletes as well as achieving to a high standard • Finalists will be selected and invited to the Sportstar Awards Dinner with the winner announced on the night • Nominations must include a completed official nomination form and attach any relevant information in the current year also detailing paid or voluntary position. Team of the Year Award • The period of consideration is January 1 to December 31 each year • Nominees must reside in The Riverine Herald circulation area. However if the nominee has moved out of the Riverine Herald circulation area they must represent a sporting club, team or individual within the circulation of the Riverine Herald to be eligible. • To constitute a Team, there must be at least two representatives • The team must have displayed teamwork, dedication and sportsmanship at all times • Nominees will be judged on the philosophy they bring to their respective sport and the positive values displayed • The award is presented to a team who has achieved outstanding results at Club, State, National or International level. • Finalists will be selected and invited to the Sportstar Awards Dinner with the winner announced on the night • Nominations must include a completed official nomination form and attach any relevant information in the current year also detailing paid or voluntary position.
