The gorgeous fresh flowers in Maddi and her bridesmaids’ hair

ROSE PETALS: Dried rose and flower petals are a wonderful alternative to traditional confetti.

Hand-made holders featuring the bride and groom’s names added a personal touch to the age-old tradition of showering newlyweds as they leave the ceremony.

FRESH FLOWERS: Abundant fresh flowers and greenery perfectly complemented the rustic hessian and neutral cream and grey tones chosen by Maddi and Hayden for their fun and relaxed wedding.

BROTHERS IN ARMS: Maddi wished to have her two older brothers involved on the day. They escorted her into the ceremony before her father walked her down the aisle to her awaiting groom.

KEEPSAKES: Individual menus tied with a sprig of lavender were placed at each setting and are a memorable keepsake for guests.

Ronald McDonald House and Cancer Council Victoria, organisations important to the bride and groom and their families, were the recipients of the couple’s generosity.

The fun mode of transport the bride and bridesmaids chose to arrive at the ceremony.

GRAND ENTRANCE: The bride and her bridesmaids rode their pushbikes to the ceremony, changing into their wedding attire when they arrived. “It was nice to be able to do something that I would normally be doing in my daily life, just a little bit more glamorously!” Leanne said.

GIRLS’ CHOICE: Leanne’s wish for relaxed and stress-free wedding planning included her four bridesmaids choosing their own dresses. The individual coloured gowns blended perfectly and complemented the bouquets of pink and white flowers.

Bridesmaids’ dresses don’t need to match, and the distinct colours add another dimension to the bridal party.

RECYCLING: It was important to Leanne and Sean to choose sustainable options; their invitations were printed on 100 per cent recycled paper and old bottles and containers were rustic, yet fashionable, flower holders.

FLOWERS GIFTED: At the conclusion of the reception the floral decorations were sent home with guests so they could continue to be enjoyed. The bride, bridesmaids and family collected flowers from friends’ gardens and spent the day before the wedding creating beautiful arrangements. “Doing our own flowers was wonderful,” Leanne said.

GUEST BOOK: Leanne and Sean left a Polaroid camera and coloured textas near their guestbook so guests could take photos to paste alongside their written well wishes. The couple now has a beautiful keepsake of the day depicting the fun and joyous wedding reception.

Getting the ONE OF THE FIRST ITEMS ON A BRIDE-TO-BE’S CHECKLIST IS CHOOSING A WEDDING GOWN. SHEPPARTON BUSINESS BRIDES AND MAIDS’ PROPRIETOR TINA RUTHERFORD HAS 40 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE DRESSING BRIDES AND THEIR ATTENDANTS. BRIDE AND GROOM ASKED TINA FOR SOME TIPS WHEN SHOPPING FOR YOUR PERFECT DRESS. Q. How far out from the wedding date should brides start their gown shopping?

A. Bridal wear can take 12 – 16 weeks for delivery, so allow plenty of time to shop and look around, I would recommend anywhere from nine to 12 months.

Q. Is it best if a bride has firm ideas of what she wants to wear?

A. Pictures and photos can give a general idea of what the bride is thinking, but that doesn’t mean she will end up with that style. Regardless of what they think they may like, they need to keep an open mind.

Q. What should a bride wear when trying on wedding gowns?

A. Bring stable shoes and well-fitting underwear. They should avoid using body lotions and fake tans so the gowns don’t get marked. I’m happy for the girls to wear make-up because we put the gowns on them in the fitting rooms so they are protected.

Q. How many people should a bride bring with her?

A. I suggest the bride brings her mother or mother-in-law and one other friend. I definitely would not recommend bringing a whole tribe along because the more people expressing an opinion, the more confused a bride gets. Too many comments make it harder for the bride to critically look at the dress and make a decision. Ultimately, she must be the one who is happy; it’s not what I think, or what the others think.

Q. Can you take photos of the gowns?

A. Not before you have purchased a gown, but even then I prefer them not to. They are not professional photographers and often the angle they hold the camera at can lead to a distorted image. When they look at it later they can be disappointed with their choice.

Q. What are the bridal gown fashion trends for 2015?

A. Beautiful corded Chantilly lace and guipure lace, lots of tulle and full skirts, ruffles of organza and taffeta. Slim-line gowns, with beautiful shaping on the body, are also very popular.

Q. Do you offer brides direction if they are unsure or indecisive?

A. I try and decipher what the brides do and don’t like about the gowns, if they want to make simple changes like add a belt that’s fine, but if they want to make wholesale changes they are best to take that gown off and try something else. In those instances that gown is obviously not the right gown.

Q. Once a bride has chosen and ordered a gown what is the next step?

A. Each bride usually requires three fittings starting about six weeks out (from the wedding). In the week of the wedding we have the final fitting so when they put on the gown on their wedding day there are no dramas. All gowns are steamed and spot cleaned, if required, then wrapped or placed in a bridal bag to take home. I recommend bringing a sheet in so we can wrap the gown to take it home; if we place some of the fuller dresses in the bridal bags they can get creased.

Twice EVERY BRIDE DREAMS OF FINDING THE PERFECT WEDDING DRESS, BUT WHAT IF MORE THAN ONE GOWN CAPTURES YOUR HEART? TWO BEAUTIFUL GOULBURN VALLEY BRIDES SHARE THEIR TALES OF SAYING YES TO TWO DRESSES – AN INCREASINGLY POPULAR TREND FOR THE MODERN-DAY BRIDE.

When you’re in the business of making brides’ dreams come true by helping them find the perfect dress, it means you’re privy to designer collections and countless styles. So, it is understandable that selecting the perfect gown for your own wedding could be quite a task.

As the owner of Michele’s Bridal and Formal Wear in Shepparton, Michelle Anstice was spoiled for choice when it came to finding her dream dress.

So, what happened when she had a ‘this is the perfect dress’ moment, twice? She said ‘I do’ to both, and wore two dresses on her wedding day on December 20, 2014.

“I had been looking for a dress for close to 18 months and it took until the last six weeks before the wedding until I actually picked one and set it in concrete,” Michelle said.

“I probably only tried on about eight dresses though, I didn’t want to overload myself.

“I had a specific thing in mind and I was searching for it, I did have the upper hand in that I had the bridal shop.”

Michelle said it came down to about four dresses in the end, and it wasn’t until she had to start altering a dress that she actually made a decision on one.

“After I had the first dress altered, the second dress came in and I fell in love with it, but I still loved the first one as well,” she said.

With an endless array of fairytale-worthy gowns at her fingertips, Michelle reasoned that her guests wouldn’t be too surprised if she wore two dresses anyway.

The first dress that Michelle wore was an elegant ball-gown with a cinched waist and A-line skirt.

Her second dress was by the same designer, Stella York, and featured a slim-fit bodice and mermaidstyle skirt.

However, she didn’t unveil the surprise until the big day and only a few people in her close circle knew. Although she planned to wait until just before the reception at the Olivehouse Event and Function Venue at Kialla West, she made the change to the second frock earlier than expected to get photos taken in both.

Because the dresses were quite similar designs with cascading layers, a lot of guests actually thought Michelle had taken a top layer off the skirt of the first dress, but they were in fact two dresses.

While she said the topic of wearing two dresses on your wedding day was a little taboo as some people might view it as frivolous, it was becoming more popular to have a second dress for the reception that was based on comfort.

“It is becoming more common to wear a big extravagant gown (for the ceremony) and have all your photos done in it,” she said.

“Then the rest of the night for when you want to party the night away, you don’t want to be held back by people standing on your train (and that’s where the second dress comes in).”

While Michelle’s gowns were both dazzling — her first dress was an A-line, while her second dress was a slimmer-fit which allowed her and Salvatore to put on a show for their wedding dance, which included moves from Michael Jackson’s Thriller, much to the delight of guests.

From a 1950s-style dress to a long sequined gown, Nadia Gledhill wore two different looks on her wedding day on November 3, 2014.

First wearing a Carla Zampatti design with a high-low hem, Nadia said “I do” to her husband Josh at the Olivehouse Event and Function Centre at Kialla West, south of Shepparton.

“I couldn’t really find any traditional wedding dresses I liked,” she said.

“I just loved the style — it was a bit 1950s and Audrey Hepburn.

“Because it was quite a day dress, I chose a second dress for the night time.”

At the reception, Nadia wore a nude sequined Jadore gown that was perfect for spinning and twirling on the dance floor.

“It had a bit of train that I had to pick up, but it was fun to spin around in and sparkle under the lights,” she said.

“When we arrived at the reception everyone was so surprised. People commented that it was nice to see something so different.”

While some may view wearing two dresses as extravagant, Nadia justified her outfit change.

She also ended up with two beautiful dresses for the price many brides spend on just one.

Shimmer and shine: At the reception, the glowing bride stunned guests in a sequined Jadore gown.

“Because my first dress was quite simple and plain, it worked in well,” she said.

“They both weren’t wedding gowns so they were affordable.

“It was nice to think outside of the box.”

Nadia said she was then able to splurge on the shoes she wore at the ceremony — a pair of white and red pointy-toe heels by the French design house Céline that she found at half-price.

Wearing a dress with high-low hem allowed the shoes to make their statement.

“I’m a bit of a shoe girl,” she said.

“Josh asked why I bought shoes that were so expensive when no-one would see them — little did he know they would be seen.”

While the tradition of the wedding gown is that it’s only worn once, Nadia would happily slip back into either one of her dresses.

“If I had occasion I would definitely wear them again,” she said.

MOUNTAIN PROPOSAL: A mountain backdrop has been a common theme for Matt and Jacinta on the journey to become husband and wife. A hike to Mt Timbertop at Merrijig, a special family spot, concluded with a romantic marriage proposal and Matt presenting Jacinta with a carefully chosen engagement ring.

VINTAGE STYLE: Jacinta’s vintage-inspired dress captured her heart as soon as she tried it on. “Mum, my sister and I selected a few different styles. Not having a particular style in mind helped, and my mum was pretty happy it was her choice I fell in love with.”

A plane flyover organised by Sarah’s mother was a special tribute to the bride’s father Pip Borrman.

The couple opted for a relaxed and stress-free occasion, choosing simple, elegant styling ideas.

“We didn’t actually have a particular ‘theme’, we were very casual and everything just seemed to work and fall into place,” Sarah said.

“At the ceremony location we let nature be the focus. We were surrounded by beautiful willows, gums and other natives by the Murray River so we introduced hues of pastels and a splash of elegant deep red roses with the floral decorations down the aisle and in my bouquet.”

An emotional highlight of the day was a plane flyover, organised by the bride’s mother Janet. A Pitts Special and two Yak-52s flew over the gathering in memory of Sarah’s father, the late Pip Borrman, an aerobatic pilot who was well known in the Shepparton region.

“It took us all by surprise and there wasn’t a dry eye to be seen. Our most memorable part of the day was the flyover. It was one of those moments that felt like it went for a very long time yet it was only a matter of seconds,” Sarah said.

The cocktail-style reception at Radcliffe’s Echuca continued the relaxed feel with outdoor dancing under the venue’s famed grapevines.

Sarah’s gown was crafted by Shepparton designer Kadime Mehmet, Wallingford Flowers of Echuca arranged the stunning bouquets, and hair and make-up for the bride and her attendants was done by Shepparton salons Gloss Hair and Beauty Boutique, Esaje Makeup and Beauty and Kim O’Keeffe’s Nail and Beauty Centre.

Suits for the male members of the bridal party were supplied by O’Keeffe Mensland, Shepparton.

Sheree Thomson and Luke Jorgensen surprised their parents by giving them significant roles to play during their marriage ceremony at Olivehouse Event and Function Venue at Kialla West on November 15, 2014.

“We asked our fathers to carry the rings and our mothers to witness us signing the register. It was a great way to involve them all,” Sheree said.

Family is important to the couple, in fact Luke’s surprise marriage proposal was witnessed by Sheree’s family on Christmas Day. Sheree wore a Vasiliki gown. Her bridesmaids’ gowns were from Shepparton boutique Michele’s Bridal and Formal Wear and the men’s suits were from O’Keeffe Mensland, Shepparton. When dressing for the ceremony brides can ask their mothers for assistance. Those few quiet moments taken before the hustle and bustle begins will be cherished for a lifetime.

Ask your parents to suggest readings, prayers, poems or songs that are significant to them for inclusion in the ceremony.

While it’s generally the bride’s parents who accompany her down the aisle, the groom’s parents can also be involved by standing with their son as he awaits his bride.

Instead of the best man taking care of the wedding rings, the parents can present them before being exchanged by the couple.

Incorporating personal rituals in the ceremony are a wonderful way to signify the joining of two families. Parents of the bride and groom can light a single unity candle from their individual family candles, pour separate containers of sand into one decorative glass bowl or pluck single flowers from two bouquets and place them in one vase.

The father-and-daughter dance at the wedding reception is a special moment that can be made even more-so by the bride asking her dad to choose a significant song.

Ken Nightingale polished his dancing skills to surprise his and Bron Nightingale’s daughter Brittney when they took to the floor for a special dance following her marriage to Tarone Palmer on November 1, 2014.

“The father/daughter dance was one of the highlights of not only the night, but my life! I know Dad practised more than he let on, and we had so much fun,” Brittney said. They danced to a mix of songs chosen by Brittney and compiled by her brother Shannon.

The couple was married at the bride’s family home in Kialla with the reception at the Overlander Hotel, Shepparton, also a proud day for Tarone’s parents Jeff and Karen Palmer.

Surprise

A secret letter added a touching element to the formal speeches following the marriage of Tamisha Simmons and Anthony Jasinowicz at Eurobin on October 11, 2014.

“My mum had written me a letter when I was born and she read it out to me as her wedding speech. (It was a) secret well kept. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house!” Tamisha, the daughter of Rob and Rowena Simmons said.

Anthony, the son of Victor and Lucy Jasinowicz, celebrated his Polish heritage by guests toasting with shots of vodka — a Polish tradition.

“Everyone was up dancing in no time!” Tamisha said.

Another special moment for the bride was dancing with her father to Every Breath You Take by The Police, the song her parents chose for their wedding.

At the ceremony giant letters spelling the word “LOVE” gave guests the opportunity to take some fun photos and as the newlyweds were leaving the reception they were farewelled by family and friends who formed an arch waving giant sparklers.

The four-tiered wedding cake was made by Cill’s Cake Creations; Avonlea Flower Farm supplied the floral decorations; and the groom and his attendants were dressed by Identity, Shepparton.

DANCING: Speeches and the cutting of the cake happened early at the reception so the night could be devoted to dancing. “A highlight was leaping into Lach’s arms (Dirty Dancing style) surrounded by our family and friends on the dance floor. My grandpa starting a conga line was also very memorable!”

Even when disaster strikes you can have your cake —

It sounds like the script of a Hollywood movie: the reception venue closed its doors months before the big day, the cake melted and the car for the bridal party broke down on the wedding day.

However, this series of unfortunate events couldn’t dull Bridget Mills and Steven Gilmour’s special day, thanks to local services coming to the rescue.

While they currently live in Melbourne, Bridget and Steven spent their childhoods in the Numurkah and Waaia regions, and returned to the country to say “I do”.

“We were both set on having a wedding in the country,” Bridget said.

Originally planned to be for April 18 at Oscar W’s in the Port of Echuca, the couple was forced to reschedule after the venue closed down.

“I worked at Oscar W’s for a couple of years and I knew the owners quite well. We had always planned to have it there, so that was pretty disheartening,” Bridget said.

With less than a year to the wedding date, the pair found it hard to locate a venue that wasn’t already booked out. Fortunately, Morrison’s Winery in Moama was able to fit them in but with a change of date, in the height of summer on January 3.

The couple had organised a wedding cake to be made in Melbourne, and as the mercury rose above 40°C, the cake melted on the journey to Echuca.

“We got to the reception venue and the manager called me over and said, ‘Ah, you’d better have a look at the cake’,” Bridget said.

“It had collapsed and was beyond repair.”

Tracey’s Cakes in Echuca saved the day — frosting a polystyrene cake to appear as the wedding cake, while the original wedding cake was okay to be served to guests.

“No-one knew that it wasn’t a real cake, except for the fact that we couldn’t cut it,” Bridget said.

All is well that ends well, and Bridget said in the end the day was truly perfect.

“No matter what happens on the day, just enjoy it and have fun.”

Dress mix-up leads to even more

After waiting five months for her dream wedding dress to arrive from England, Bernadette Rendell made the trip from Nathalia to the NSW store she purchased it from to pick it up.

However, when she arrived she was shocked to find that instead of the white mermaid gown she had ordered, there was a latte-coloured A-line dress in its place.

“I was devastated, to say the least,” Bernadette said.

Bernadette had just 15 days before her wedding to find another dress.

“I didn’t tell anyone because I didn’t want anyone else to stress about it,” she said.

“The lady in the store worked out she had added an extra ‘0’ to the barcode of the dress she ordered, and I ended up getting a refund.”

Bernadette then contacted Michelle at Michele’s Bridal and Formal Wear in Shepparton and explained her predicament.

“Fortunately she was more than willing to help and said I could buy a dress off her floor, so I went in and tried on three dresses,” she said.

“The first one I liked, the second one I didn’t, but the third one — a Stella York gown I fell in love with, more so than the original dress (from the store in NSW).”

With just 13 days to the wedding, Bernadette finally had her fairytale dress.

“It fit like a glove, it didn’t even need altering — it was like it was meant to be,” Bernadette said.

She married Glenn Caccianiga on October 10, 2014, at a ceremony at Perricoota Vines Retreat in Moama, followed by a reception at Radcliffe’s in Echuca.

“The wedding day itself was perfect, I couldn’t have faulted anything — it was magical.”

Bernadette’s advice to other brides is to simply stay relaxed and to avoid stressing if anything does go wrong.

“There is always someone who has been in the industry long enough to help you out.”

Melissa Lago and Adam Mercuri November 8, 2014 Early on in the wedding planning Melissa Lago decided she wanted to carry a bouquet of ivory open peony roses.

“We were engaged for two-and-a-half years and I was very lucky as peonies only bloom for a short period each year and our wedding day happened to fall right in the middle of the blooming period,” Melissa said.

Flawless fake tan tips

A SPRAY TAN CAN ENHANCE A BRIDE’S NATURAL ASSETS, BUT IF YOU’VE NEVER HAD ONE BEFORE THE IDEA CAN BE FRAUGHT WITH THOUGHTS OF STREAKS, SPOTS AND ORANGE PALMS. A MONTH PRIOR: Get a trial tan about a month before the big day.

“With a trial, the bride can then decide if they want to go lighter or darker or if the colour suits their skin,” Sarah said.

By booking a trial a month before, the tan will be rubbed off in time for the real deal which will avoid a patchy look.

Sarah said a spray tan will look more natural if the whole bridal party is bronzed, so it was a good idea for bridesmaids to test run as well.

A WEEK PRIOR: If you wax, get it done a week before to avoid skin irritation or shave a day or two before the appointment.

Scrub the body using an exfoliating mitt and a shower gel with granules. Exfoliating removes all the dead skin cells and allows the tan to be applied more evenly.

ON THE DAY: It’s recommended that spray tans are done a day before the wedding.

“Have a shower so your skin is clean before you come in – this also means no moisturisers or deodorant,” Sarah said.

“Also wear loose clothing and thongs.”

AFTER THE APPOINTMENT: The time between the appointment and the first shower varies from tan to tan.

While Sarah uses product that develops in 90 minutes, some products need up to eight hours. She said whatever tan was used; the first shower is a quick rinse with no soap.

“The next day the bride can use a pH-balanced skin wash and then moisturise,” she said.

“Keep up the moisturising for the whole time you have the tan.”

Common mistakes that can break down the tan: •

Shaving after the appointment;

•

Not using a soap-free wash;

•

Wearing shoes such as runners to the appointment; and

•

Going to the gym because sweat will cause the tan to run.

A spray tan can last from seven to 10 days if it’s looked after. To remove a tan, simply use a tan removal mitt and scrub in the shower.

If you want to extend the tan throughout the honeymoon, avoid chlorinated water because the chemicals will strip the tan.

Eat healthily to look and feel fantastic You’ve got the dress, you’ve booked the venue and you’ve made all your beauty appointments in advance — but are you looking after yourself from the inside out?

It’s common for brides to go on fad diets or weightloss pills for quick weight loss; however these options are often unhealthy and can make you feel awful.

Fads can also leave the skin and hair looking dull.

Goulburn Valley dietician Charlotte Livesay said it was important to adopt a healthy diet ahead of the wedding, and for life.

“It’s never too early or too late for you to start having a healthy lifestyle with food and exercise,” Charlotte said.

She encouraged brides to just eat real food.

A diet full of nutritious wholefoods along with an active lifestyle can result in lustrous hair, glowing skin, a healthy body and more energy for you to plan your wedding.

“Planning a wedding can be a stressful time so it’s important that you’re providing your body with enough vitamins and minerals,” Charlotte said.

“Eat a variety of healthy foods from all the five food groups to meet your nutritional needs and eat portion-controlled regular meals.”

Charlotte said people were often surprised at how easy it was to live well and feel great.

“It’s a lot simpler than people expect — especially for people who are confused by all the latest fad diets,” she said.

Most vegetables, legumes/beans and fruit are low in energy (kilojoules) relative to many other foods, and can help fill you up while avoiding excessive weight gain.

According to the national guidelines, a woman with a waist of 80 cm or less is considered to be in the healthy weight range.

If a woman is eating plenty of wholefoods, it will be easier to limit take-away food, alcohol and salt, which can cause puffiness and bloating in some people.

“Processed foods and alcohol are not taboo but they should only be consumed in small amounts,” Charlotte said.

And she has one last piece of advice: “Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water.”

The astonishment and delight on guests’ faces was clearly evident while they viewed a slideshow of Jenna and Jim’s marriage ceremony at St Brendan’s Catholic Church earlier that day.

The shadows and fairy lights create a unique ambience at a night-time celebration.

LIT UP: Candles and the bride’s favourite flowers decorated the rustic reception room.

“We didn’t have any particular theme, we just wanted everything very casual and fun for everyone,” Jenna said.

QUIRKY CAKE: A three-tiered red velvet wedding cake decorated with colourful sprinkles and ribbon was topped with fresh flowers and set on a large slab of timber at the reception venue.

BRIDE’S ADVICE: “Take everything in, it goes so quickly; and don’t fuss over the small details. At the end of the day if you’ve married the love of your life, everything went perfectly to plan.”

For Emma and Tim, it was treasured childhood memories that the couple shared of growing up together in Dookie that inspired them to have their reception at home.

The celebration was held in the quarry on Tim’s parents’ property in Dookie on September 27, 2014.

“We spent a lot of time there as kids, we would go out there with all our mates,” Emma said.

“It was a very relaxed atmosphere and we were able to do whatever we wanted with the venue, plus people were able to stay there as well.

“It was quite a small reception with 70 guests of close family and friends, and a lot of them camped over.”

Emma said another advantage was that there weren’t any noise or time constraints to worry about.

“Because we were out in the middle of nowhere there were no restrictions on when we had to leave or what time we had to get there, it was just all really relaxed,” she said.

“It also didn’t cost us anything to have it there, which was quite a big advantage.”

Tim’s special request for the wedding was that someone did a burnout, which was possible at the private location, and made for a striking photo.

The unpredictable spring weather brought rain the day before and the day after the wedding, but the sun shone through on the couple’s special day.

At their Dookie home, Lauren and husband Wayne can look outside and see the spot where they said “I do”.

The couple’s wedding ceremony on January 4, 2014 took place on their half-acre block, which provided the perfect space to create their dream of a rustic-style wedding with unique handmade decorations.

“We just thought it would be special to have it at home and in years to come we can look out the back window and remember that we got married there,” Lauren said.

“I wanted hay bales for seating and many different touches that I probably couldn’t have had at other locations.”

Lauren made the bonbonnieres, menus and rose-petal holders while Wayne crafted wooden signs and cake stands.

“Having the ceremony at our home meant we could set up the vision we had for our wedding,” Lauren said.

Wayne also surprised Lauren by fulfilling another wish she had dreamed of: having a wedding photo taken on the back of the hay truck on their property.

A tractor was needed to lift the couple onto the truck, plus the photographer had to take the photo from a vantage point.

The couple’s reception was held at The Woolshed, Kialla.

Lauren and her attendants looked stunning in their gowns from Brides and Maids, Shepparton, in this fun portrait.

Aimee had not planned to wear anything in her hair until she “stumbled across” this hair piece during a shopping excursion with her bridesmaids.

GRATEFUL: “We were very privileged, thanks to the owners from Oscar W’s Wharfside Restaurant, to be able to have a sit-down dinner reception on the Echuca Wharf,” Aimee said.

“This was not easy for the owners to organise but they worked extremely hard to make our reception amazing.

We can’t thank them enough.”

RELIVING YESTER-YEAR: “I would describe my theme as being a little bit rustic and vintage combined,” Aimee said.

Her ideas for the wedding theme started to come together after spending many hours looking through magazines, Pinterest and Facebook.

“I really just hoped for something simple but beautiful.”

A QUIET MOMENT: The couple enjoyed every aspect of the day, including some quiet time alone after the ceremony.

Photographer Liz Arcus walked the newlyweds to one of the pubs along the wharf where the couple sat and had a drink, and reflected on the day.

“I think this was when we really relaxed and started to enjoy ourselves,” Aimee said.

“We look back on the day now and have so many happy thoughts and remember how relaxed we both were.”
