Three running for two seats

Oak Ridge High School Principal Aaron Palm greets students on the first day back to campus Oct. 8. ORHS and other El Dorado County high schools began a hybrid schooling model last week, bringing students back into classrooms certain days of the week and having them study at home the remainder of the week. “We were a little nervous about logistics, but everything is going the way it is supposed to and we are happy to have the kids back,” Palm told Village Life.
Why are you running? What would you like to accomplish? I am running for the CSD board to continue my efforts as a community activist and to bring this enthusiasm and dedication to every corner of EDH. As a registered nurse, I feel most successful when I am helping others. The past five months I’ve been engaged with SITA BURGESS elected officials, land developers, law enforcement, fire, DOT, HOAs and the CSD seeking creative solutions for the challenges n
Why are you running? What would you like to accomplish? I am running because my love and commitment to the community that I grew up in runs deep. I have three priorities: 1. I am committed to doing everything within my power and the CSD’s to acquire the former executive golf course. Based on the announceNOELLE MATTOCK ment by the landowner, in front of 500 EDH residents, we have initiated negotiations, but a deal takes a willing seller. I will not
What a kick An El Dorado Hills street became a nostalgic trip down Route 66 during Saturday’s Hands4Hope fundraiser. At right, Pink Ladies Esther Normolye, Lori Whittle and Kathy Van Saun, left to right, pose next to a shiny classic car along the route. Below left, Simone Carathers, 15, left, and Bryn Skaff, 19, show off their skating skills. Below right, Hands4Hope board member Estee Horn waits to be bailed out. Hands4Hope leaders and community members volunteered to be jailed to raise “bail” money for the nonprofit.

Why are you running? What would you like to accomplish? I often say, you cannot un-know something. Once you’ve put your time in as director of the El Dorado Hills CSD you become involved in longspanning projects and topics. You want to see items come to fruition, truly know what the CSD’s influence is in keeping this BEN PAULSEN community moving in the right direction and that passion makes it extremely difficult to walk away. In fact, you fight to stay involved n

Voters will see candidate Dan Sozzi’s name on their ballots but he has told Village Life he will not accept an EDHCSD board position even he receives enough votes. “After the filing deadline I became aware of a ‘potential’ conflict of interest. Even though I am 100% confident I could serve without allowing this potential conflict to become an actual conflict of interest, I am not willing to have even the appearance of any conflict occur so I decided that the best thing to do would be to withdraw,” he shared. “California elections code does not allow for a candidate to withdraw so I am not campaigning at all. I won’t be serving and have asked that people not vote for me.”
