Residents tell supervisors communities don’t want to be divided Todd R. Hansen

FAIRFIELD — Residents of Green Valley, Cordelia Villages, Benicia and Dixon believe they should not be split among two supervisorial districts when the Board of Supervisors makes its final mapping decision later this year. That was a common theme relayed Tuesday by members of the Redistricting Advisory Committee. Chris Angle, representing the 2nd District, told the board that residents in upper and lower Green Valley want to be part of a single district instead of being divided as they are right now between the 2nd and 3rd Districts. Angle added that residents of Cordelia Villages identify more with Green Valley rather

than Fairfield. “They do not feel like they are part of core Fairfield, and do not want to be part of core Fairfield,” Angle said of the input received during a series of committee meetings held around the county and other outreach efforts. Similar sentiments were voiced by Suisun Valley, Mare Island and Vacaville residents who indicated they would like to see as much of the city within a single district as possible. Jim McCully, representing the 5th District, told the board that residents in the rural areas of the county want that lifestyle protected, which also would be better served with a single supervisor. Solano ag agency looks into possible infestation of ‘sharpshooter’ Todd R. Hansen

VACAVILLE — The Solano County Agriculture Commissioner’s Office is investigating a possible infestation of an insect, that if not controlled, could pose a threat to the winegrape industry. Five glassy-winged sharpshooters have been identified in a residential area along Browns Valley Road, in the Centennial Park area of Vacaville, Agriculture Commissioner Ed King said. He said he believes it is a breeding population, and how they arrived in the county is part of the investigation. If the presence is serious enough, it would likely lead to a state quarantine of the affected area. King on Tuesday

She also claims he targeted her for her religion by harassing her for having a nose ring, which is a Hindu custom. Dawkins-Padigela alleges in her claim that Morris “made it clear” that “if subordinate employees did not similarly share his religious beliefs, and attend his church, they would be subjected to different and worse terms and conditions of employment.”
