Caltrans to shut down parts of I-80 overnight

Full overnight closures of Interstate 80 between Red Top Road and Interstate 680 are scheduled each weeknight starting Monday.

State Department of Transportation crews will be working on the I-80/I-680/Highway 12 Interchange Project, closing eastbound I-80 at Red Top Road at 10 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and reopening at 6 a.m. the next mornings.

Motorists traveling east on I-80 will detour to Red Top Road onto Lopes Road and then back onto eastbound I-80, Caltrans reported.

Westbound I-80 will be closed at 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday and reopen at 4 a.m. the next days, and close again from 11 p.m. Aug. 30 to 4 a.m. the next day, and again at 11 p.m. Aug. 31 until 4 a.m. Sept. 1.

Motorists traveling west on I-80 will detour onto the I-680 connector, travel south to Interstate 780 (Curtola Parkway) then back onto westbound I-80.

SBDC schedules training webinars

The Solano Small Business Development Center has several virtual training seminars available this month to county residents.

Get advice on Holiday Marketing Planning and preparing small businesses for the holidays from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday. Learn the quickest ways to grow revenue and prepare for the upcoming holiday sales season.

Sales Training: Making a Successful Sales Call will be discussed from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday. The class teaches skills needed to find prospects and how to turn them into customers.

HR/Training on Compliance will occur from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Rhonda Bennett, the Solano SBDC Human Resources adviser, leads the sessions. Covid-19 CalOSHA emergency temporary service requirements will be a big subject of the session.

Chamber to host meet with councilman

The Chamber of Commerce will host a virtual meeting with City Councilman Jason Roberts at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Roberts represents District 5.

This is an informal town hall meeting to get to know him better and learn about his goals as a member of the council, according to an announcement for the event. An audience question-andanswer session will follow.
