Rodriguez, Early College students mark achievements Matt Miller
The Rodriguez principal was thrilled to receive the prestigious state award, even during tough times. The honor still came as most students did the bulk of their senior workload from home until late spring. Rodriguez had a graduating class of 407 and joined by the 54 graduates from Early College High School, 461 students were assembled on the field at Coach Ed Hopkins Memorial Stadium for the evening commencements. FAIRFIELD — Rodriguez High School Principal Clarence Isadore was proud of his graduates and all they accomplished this year, individually and as a collective group. “Tell the story of being the pride of Solano County as a California Distinguished High School, even during a pandemic,” Isadore said before his Mustangs. “You worked hard morning, noon and night and built relations that will last a lifetime.”

FAIRFIELD — Going to school during a pandemic is challenging enough. Going to school, working and raising children takes another level of dedication. Jessica Calderon was one of the 118 graduates Tuesday who earned their high school diploma or high school equivalency with the FairfieldSuisun Adult School. Past-due rents related to Covid pandemic exceed $9M in Solano Todd R. Hansen

FAIR F IELD — Renters owe their Solano County landlords more than $9 million due to the Covid-19 pandemic hardships that allowed payments to stop without the threat of eviction. But the pipers want to be paid. The Solano County supervisors received an update Tuesday on the eviction moratorium
status for residential and commercial properties. The advice from County Counsel Bernadette Curry was to do nothing right now. The county’s residential moratorium stays in effect for 90 days after the local Covid-19 emergency is lifted. When that will be is uncertain. State and county officials have indicated this week that their emergency declarations will continue past June 15 when
the state will end most of the restrictions related to the Blueprint for a Safer Economy. The commercial moratorium is in limbo waiting for Gov. Gavin Newsom to decide whether to extend his executive order past June 30. In the meantime, the county is pushing residents who need rental assistance to sign up for the county program.
