FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield City Council on Tuesday will consider as part of its consent agenda a resolution condemning hate crimes, attacks and attitudes against AsianAmerican and Pacific Islander Communities. “In the past year, there has been a marked increase in hate crimes, attacks and violence against the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities,” the staff report to the council states. “The purpose of the proposed resolution condemns such acts of discrimination against

this community and others and urges residents to denounce this unacceptable conduct and hate to help keep us all safe during this pandemic and beyond.” The consent agenda is a collection of items generally considered routine and is considered under a single vote and typically without comment. Council members or staff may pull individual items from the consent agenda for discussion and a separate vote. The council meets via teleconference at 6 p.m. Tuesday after a closed session at 5 p.m. to discuss See Council, Page A12
