Over the past several years, FCD has recognized All-Area high school players and sponsored student internships.

The men’s team will be on the road in San Francisco this weekend to play the formidable El Farolito on Saturday before returning home for the Causeway Clasico on June 26, the team’s rivalry game against Sacramento Gold FC. It will be the first time the Lions play in front of the hometown fans this season.

The Golden Lions roster features a handful of talented returners including Kennedy Chongo (Biola) and UCD stars Evan Barrett, Justin Wright, Kristian Heptner, Cyrus Ghaffari, Thomas Arnstein and Aaron Schten.

After a year of question marks and postponements, FC Davis can let out a breath of relief as both the men’s and women’s season are underway.

Both teams have title ambitions and want to make the most of the season after being unable to take the field for so long. No matter what happens in the win and loss columns,
