Linda Marie Gaskin
Nov. 15, 1952 – Nov. 15, 2021
Linda was 69 years old. She was born in San Francisco, Calif.
She was the beloved wife of Chuck Gaskin, mother of Charlie Gaskin and the late Michelle Searcy, sister of Bob Burger, Marlene Davenport and Sandy Piggit and aunt to many nephews and nieces.
Grandmother of Katie Gonzalez, Anthony Searcy, Madison Searcy and Mason Searcy.
Family and friends are invited to attend services Thursday, Dec. 16, 11 a.m. at Green Valley Mortuary, 3004 Alexandrite Drive, Rescue, Calif. Reception is following at the Gaskin home.
In lieu of fl owers the family requests donations be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Catherine (Cathie) Betty Choate
May 17, 1932 – Nov. 22, 2021
Catherine (Cathie) Betty Choate was born in Placerville May 17, 1932 to Alex and Lil Revas. She passed away on Nov. 22 at the age of 89.
She attended Placerville Grammar School, El Dorado High School and graduated from San Jose State where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega.
Cathie taught in Alum Rock School District for many years. Her hobbies were gardening, playing bridge with her friends and enjoying time with her family.
She leaves behind her four sons and daughterin-laws; Dennis (Shawn), Craig (Debbie), Bob and Steve (Christy) as well as seven grandchildren; Bryan (Katey), Bonny (Doug), Alex, Tanner, Reagan, Kelly and Kyle and four great-grand kids; brother Alex (Barbara) Revas and many other nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Chapel of the Pines.
Patricia “Patty” Marie Kroeker
Dec. 11, 1949 – Nov. 23, 2021
Patricia “Patty” Marie Kroeker was born on Dec. 11, 1949 and was set free by her Savior, Jesus Christ Nov. 23. Patty was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to James and Ruth Hamner. James and Ruth moved from Tuscaloosa to El Dorado County when Patty was a child and Patty remained in this beautiful Northern California town that she loved all of the days of her life. Patty was a successful and loyal legal secretary for more than 20 years. After retiring from the legal fi eld, she joined her husband Ken Kroeker in running their business, Western Trading Company. Patty and Ken were married on April 16, 1988 and they celebrated 33 cherished years of marriage. Patty loved her family immensely and was a caretaker to anyone in need. Patty was generous in all areas and gave with a tremendously compassionate heart. Patty was a strong and determined woman who enjoyed her friends and loved to dance and have fun. Patty was adored by her various church groups members, business relationships and community friendships. Patty was a beloved Sister, a playful, witty and at times hilarious Grandma and she warmed hearts with her personality. Patty was a deeply devoted Mother who was and will always be treasured by her children.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents James and Ruth Hamner; sisters Diane Hamner and Teresa Ann Egbert (husband Wayne) and her brother Jim Hamner. Patty is survived by her husband Ken Kroeker; children Jason Hunter (wife Kelli), Kristina Heym (husband Adrian), Keri Stallions (husband Dave), Bryan Kroeker (wife Kelly) and her seven grandchildren; Luke, Meya, Dylan, Bryson, Jocelyn, Ryan and Hailey; as well as her brother John Hamner (wife Robin).
A celebration of life will be held at Cold Springs Church, 2600 Cold Springs Road in Placerville at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18.
In lieu of Flowers, her family and Cold Springs Church have set up a Christmas Giving Fund in Patty’s honor. One hundred percent of these funds will go to helping local families in need.

Town Center shines

El Dorado Hills Town Center hosted its tree lighting event Saturday with Santa and Mrs. Claus leading the crowd in the countdown moments before the shopping center’s signature tree was illuminated thanks to a little magic glitter.

The suspect was gone upon deputies’ arrival.
