Parker Development’s newest addition to the Serrano subdivision proposes 51 single-family residential lots near Highway 50.
IN SERRANO
New community’s fate up in the air Sel Richard Staff writer Parker Development’s proposed residential subdivision on the west side of Silva Valley Parkway between Russi Ranch Drive and Tong Road was met with a recommendation for denial from the El Dorado County Planning Commission due to requests for modifications to minimum lot size, minimum lot dimensions and building setbacks. The Serrano Village A-14 35.78-acre parcel houses 51 single-family residential lots ranging from 3,760 to 10,362 square feet, five landscape lots, one open space lot, three remainder lots and one 20.25-acre lot for the approved Serrano Village C, Phase 2. The proposed design waivers modify improvement standards including roadway rights-of-way and improvement widths for sidewalks and curbs; reduce a 100-foot centerline curve radii in two areas; modify the standard

New lights, cell tower going up at Oak Ridge High School Sel Richard Staff writer Relief is on the horizon for those cell phone users plagued with spotty service along Silva Valley Parkway. Last week the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors overturned the county Planning Commission’s recommendation for denial of a cellular facility on the Oak Ridge High School football field. Epic Wireless Group, contracted by Verizon Wireless, proposes the removal of two existing 55-foot-tall light standards on the east side of the stadium and replacing them with two 80-foot-tall stadium light standards to match those
on the opposite side. One of the proposed light standards would house nine antennas along with stadium lights and speakers within a 175-foot lease area. The second light standard would hold stadium lights and speakers only. According to deputy director of Planning Rob Peters, the Planning Commission recommended denial of the project in early March due to concerns relating to lighting and colocation feasibility of adding towers to the existing poles instead of putting them on new poles. “It’s not routine for staff to recommend overturning a Planning Commission decision,” he explained. ■
