NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN El Dorado Irrigation District (EID) staff will present for Board approval a final draft report comparing EID’s drinking water quality in the Main Water System with the Public Health Goals (PHGs) adopted by the California EPA’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) and with the Maximum Contaminant Level Goals (MCLGs) adopted by the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). PHGs and MCLGs are not enforceable standards and no action to meet them is mandated. EID‘s Main Water System continues to deliver safe drinking water as required by the State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water and the USEPA. Therefore, no additional actions are to be recommended. Section 11670(b) of the California Health and Safety Code specify that water utilities with greater than 10,000 service connections prepare a report every three years if water quality measurements have exceeded any PHGs and/or MCLG; the latest report is due by July 1, 2022. Only constituents which have a California primary drinking water standard and for which either a PHG or MCLG has been set are to be addressed. The report is intended to supplement information previously provided to the public in the 2019, 2020, and 2021 Annual Water Quality reports, which are available on EID’s website at www.eid.org. Governing Board member Winston Pingrey has resigned from his seat on the Buckeye Union School District Governing Board, effective June 16, 2022, creating a Board vacancy. At their Regular Board Meeting on May 18, 2022, the Buckeye Union School District Governing Board took action to fill this vacancy by making a provisional appointment rather than holding a costly special election. The Board also approved the vacancy timeline and process. The process included the establishment of a paper screening committee that will screen applicants for eligibility and recommend candidates to be interviewed by the Board. Per the California Education Code, the Board now has 60 days from the effective date of the resignation (June 16, 2022) to make the Provisional Appointment. The appointee will hold office until the next Governing Board Member election, which occurs at the Statewide General Election in November 2022.
