Some 300 volunteers took to Placerville’s parks and trails April 30 as part of the annual Rise and Shine Community Clean-up Day. At Rotary Park on Clark Street a group of helpers from VantagePoint Church, including Victoria Wells, Cassandra Chamberlain and Cameron Harney, pictured from left, work to spread a fresh layer of sawdust across a playground. SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — El Dorado County District 5 Supervisor candidate Kenny Curtzwiler is taking on Barton Memorial Hospital in a defamation suit. An El Dorado County jury has convicted Jeffrey Keith Aiello, 59, of 10 counts of child molestation and one count of kidnapping. Aiello, a resident of Pilot Hill, molested six children between 1999 and 2015, according to a Jeffrey Keith Aiello news release from the county District Attorney’s Office.
