Court orders Apple Bistro to shut down Mountain Democrat staff El Dorado County Superior Court has issued a preliminary injunction for Apple Bistro to cease operations until a health permit is obtained. The order came Feb. 18. The restaurant’s health permit was revoked in July 2020 when management failed to comply with COVID-19 related restrictions, including wearing masks. Under state law and local county ordinances meant to safeguard the public, all restaurants in the county must have a health permit to operate. Apple Bistro, located at 2740 Highway 50 in Placerville, is owned by Jennette Waldow. The county filed a lawsuit Nov. 8, 2021, seeking an order from El

Dorado County Superior Court requiring Apple Bistro to close until the owners obtained a permit. “We stay open because we care and because of our right,” Waldow told the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors at its Nov. 16, 2021, meeting. “It’s not a law; it’s not a mandate. We did not vote on it; you did not vote on it and yet you are voting us out … you are trying to be bigger than we are. At the Flume 4 construction site workers had holes drilled into the rock face on the uphill side and had laid out the fabric layer that will be anchored into the hillside and drain off water.
