A Grocery Outlet is now set to go into Cameron Park near the intersection of Winterhaven Drive and Green Valley Road despite an attempted appeal to block the project. Representing a group called the Residents for a Safe Cameron Park, Sacramento-based attorney Robert Bone sought to halt the planned
concerns about traffic. Citing a traffic study conducted by Prism Engineering, Bone told the board that trip generations done through another study by Sacramentobased company Kimley-Horn are underestimated by using a trip rate used for larger multi-purpose shopping centers. SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — Lake Tahoe saw record-breaking snowfall in December and January is experiencing historic weather too, but for different reasons. January 2022 was one of the driest in more than 50 years. “The snow lab near Donner Summit recorded over 1 inch of precipitation and 9 inches of snow during the first week of January,” said Bryan Allegretto, a forecaster with ski conditions information service OpenSnow. As of Jan. 27, average precipitation in the Tahoe Basin was 1.5 inches, according to the UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab. Records go as far back as 1970, since then 2014-15 was the driest January with only .35 inches of precipitation received. January 1983-84 saw 1 inch, 1990-91 saw 1.02 inches and 2012-13 received 1.34 inches. February might not be any better. “Despite older models suggesting an increase in our moisture during the first half of February, it’s now looking like we’ll be exceedingly dry for the foreseeable future,” reported Central Sierra Snow Lab researchers. The whole state of California is suffering from the lack of precipitation. U.S. Drought Monitor shows the Tahoe region as experiencing moderate drought and most of the state as experiencing severe drought. Because of December’s historic snowfall the Tahoe Basin still has snow on the mountains.

and Assembly District 5, we’ve seen the consequences of government making decisions for parents,” Gordon, a Republican, states in a news release. “I believe in school choice and the rights of parents to decide what’s best for their children. We can’t let those liberties be taken away from us. “I want to keep our communities safe and fight for an affordable California,” he continued. “I hope to be a voice of reason in the state Assembly, while representing our conservative values. If we are going to change California, we must change the people we send to Sacramento.” Redrawn following the 2020 Census, District 5 includes Lincoln, Auburn and Georgetown to the north as well as El
