As I sit to write the welcome letter to our 10th Annual Bull Sale, I can’t believe how fast the last 10 years has gone by. It seems like just yesterday that we were anxiously planning our first sale hoping we had enough bulls to make a quality sale offering and hoping that people would like the cattle enough to come and buy them. Our philosophy has always been “We don’t want to just sell you a bull on sale day, we want to sell you bulls that make you more money - MORE POUNDS MORE PROFIT!” We are very proud of the fact that over the past 10 years, we have developed a large repeat clientele, and we hope we have added value to each and every program we have sold bulls to over the 10 years and have built a relationship of trust that we are supplying the very best Charolais genetics available!

We can honestly say we are extremely excited about this group of bulls as they are one of the stronger groups we have ever offered. In addition, we are excited to offer a new section to our sale which includes the offering of 50 two year old Red Simmental cross heifers with their tan Charolais calves at side, all sired by McLeod Livestock herd sires. Thanks to the Scott Anderson Bred Heifer program, they specifically synchronized a hand picked group of heifers to AI to McLeod Livestock herd sires. They then calved them out between Dec 26, 2022 and Jan 10, 2023. This entire group of 50 heifers along with their calves will be on offer in this year’s Bull Sale and will sell in groups of 3-5 heifers.

If the experts are right and Old Mother Nature gives us a helping hand, the guarded expectations for the 2023 fall commercial calf market could be extremely strong, and the commercial bred cow and heifer market could be headed for all time high levels in 2023 and 2024. But the one thing to always remember, when this market does reach new levels, quality cattle will be in more demand than ever so the decisions you have made over the last couple years and this spring will be reflected in the returns you will receive for the cattle you offer for sale in the future!

We invite you to attend our 10th Annual sale Wednesday, Feb 22 – 1:00 pm at the Olds Cow Palace. You are certainly welcome to come see the bulls or Cow/Calf pairs any time prior to the sale at the farms and/or the cattle will all be in Olds for viewing on Monday evening, Feb 20 and all day Tuesday, Feb 21. If you are unable to attend sale day certainly don’t hesitate to call and discuss your needs. Please call myself, Colby, Maury, Scott Anderson or any of our very capable sale staff to help you out. DELIVERY & BOARD

Free delivery to central points in Alberta, We will arrange trucking anywhere at minimal costs. Free board until April 1, 2023. All bulls going back to the farms must be insured. Bulls left after April 1, 2023 will be charged $3.00 per day.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

The sale will be conducted under the Canadian Charolais Association standard terms and conditions. Call if you require a copy.

Semen Tests

All bulls will have passed a semen test prior to delivery.

Right To Draw Semen

McLeod Livestock and Triple M Farms reserve the right to draw semen on any of the sale offering for in-herd use only. This will be at our expense and drawn in the off-season.
