Terms: The terms of the sale are cash or check. All monies are in Canadian funds. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made. All settlements must be made with the clerk before any cattle will be release. Disputes: Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in the case of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block take precedence over the printed matter in the catalog. Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Insurance will be available sale day. Breeder’s Guarantee: All bulls have been registered, unless indicated in the catalog, and papers will be transferred to the new owner. All bulls sold are guaranteed to the standard breed association guarantees. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price. Liabilities: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The sellers and/or sales staff assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for accidents that occur in, on, or about the premises.
Delivery
Age Verification: All cattle at the sale are age verified.
Trucking: Cattle can leave that day and please make We will offer delivery within 200 km of home, after that at cost. arrangements to do so. Anyone not wanting to take their bulls after the sale can make arrangements with the breeder to keep the bulls at a cost Check out the videos of sale animals at dlms.ca of $4.00 per day after April 1, 2024. e want to welcome you to our 2024 bull sale. We really appreciate your interest in our program, whether you bid, purchased, called, stopped-in and looked, or watched online, we are grateful for the gestures. This year we have a great selection of Red, Red Blaze Faced, Black and Black Blazed Faced bulls for your appraisal. We strive to raise bulls with longevity, docility, calving ease and performance. Our bulls do not receive any creep feed whatsoever. We have too many small pastures away from home, that the bulls are weaned off just milk and grass. The grass this past year was a little on the dry side to say the least. The bulls were weaned a few weeks earlier than normal due to the shortage of pasture. The bulls are on a full heard health program, and we collaborate with our Veterinarian Dr. Jordan Holt on that. Dr. Holt also will have semen tested the bulls prior to sale day. We fully guarantee that these bulls will be sound breeders, and we are very confident they will go out and work for you. If there are any issues, we will work with you to either replace the bull, provide you with a credit or a refund. We are happy to take the bulls home after the sale and feed them until the 1st of April, at which time we will delivery the bulls at our convenience. The bulls are on a ration that is a rolled textured mix from Trouw Nutrition, as well as free choice hay. The bulls are not pushed and are fed for a more natural growth. Once again, we are happy to have Tempest Red Angus joining the sale. Dave Slingerland is a dedicated young cattleman, who is building his Red Angus herd and will have some great bulls on offer. elcome to the 4th annual MCG Simmental and Tempest red angus bull sale. I’m happy to present the first crop of bulls off 2 new herdsires selected from Mavv farms- 14J a high calving easy curve bending pedigree. Mavv 24J selected for his rugged build and high performance with strong maternal genetics. I feel they are a strong set with something for everyone from a heifer bulls to high performance herd sire. I’ve scored them on a calving score again this year to assist with buying decisions. 1: recommended for cows only. 2: could be used on larger framed well developed heifers. 3: high calving ease, safe on heifers. Bulls are summered on a dry pasture without creep, from weaning on they’re fed a high roughage cereal silage ration with Trouw nutrion bull development ration. They will be at the sale in working condition without being pushed. All bulls on full herd health program including footrot vaccine and will be sold with a vet health inspection and semen test. Bulls can return home until May 1st and be delivered free of charge. Will take $150/bull off of purchase price for any bulls taken home day of sale. This is a bull that did a lot of good for our herd. We have retained several daughters, and some of his sons have been high selling bulls in past sales. The line up of sons in this year’s sale is outstanding. This is the last set of calves that we will have to offer on this bull. If you are looking for a performance bull, the 101G sons will provide that. He also was a bull that had a super disposition, so you can also look for nice temperaments from these 101G sired bulls as well. He also had such a good big solid foot on him and was super free moving. He was solid red except for a bit of white on his sheath, and he was Homo Polled.

This is a definite herd bull in the making. He has a ton of muscle and a big wide top. This bull is a full brother to our high selling bull in our 2022 bull sale that went to Dan Slingerland. Dan has said that he is quite happy with him. This bull had the highest actual weaning weight at 886 lbs, with not a lot of grass or creep, you can see his mother is doing her part and more. His mother is a solid cherry red, larger framed cow. She has an excellent disposition. If you want to take your calves to the next level at weaning, don’t miss out on this bull.

This bull is out of a cow that just doesn’t miss, and she is one of my favorite cows. She has 2 daughters in herd as well as a bull at Gordon Turner Farms Ltd. She is a moderate frame sized cow with a near perfect udder. Even with weaning the bulls earlier than normal due to a shortage of grass, this bull still had an actual weaning weight of 829 lbs. He is a definite herd bull. Gestation – 289 days.

Gestation 281 days – This is a half brother to our high selling red bull in last year’s sale that went to Cuttin Cattle. This bull’s mother was high on our list of favorite cows in the herd. Unfortunately, we lost her at pasture in one of those freak accidents. It is always the really good ones that you lose to early. She was a moderate framed young cow with a perfect udder and great feet. 62L is the complete package and won’t be hard to find on sale day.

We purchased this Black blazed faced bull in December 2021 as one of MAVV Farms’ high selling bulls. This year is the only year we will have any bulls to offer from this sire as he got stifled just after breeding, the first breeding season we had him. He was a super docile bull with a lot of length. This bull is a bull we purchased out of the Labbatt Simmental Sale. We really liked what his sire Top Tier was doing for the industry. We did not get very many calves out of him the first year, as he got injured early. We are looking forward to more to come though, in the next year. This bull is a thick tank and moderate framed. He has lots of calving ease in him, but still enough punch for growth. We used him on heifers the first breeding season and had good luck with the few calves we did get off him. I think he did a great job on the 2 bulls out of first calf heifers that we have on offer, but we will let you be the judge on sale day.
