PERFECT PLACE For almost 100 years, this Great Pine has been growing on the southern slope of North Uncanoonuc Mountain just outside of Manchester. Today, it is the majestic backdrop for weddings at The Gardens at Uncanoonuc Mountain. And that’s just one of the beautiful spots for a ceremony at The Gardens. A tasseled place card made of handmade cotton provides a feeling of luxury when coupled with the calligraphed names. A nice complement to the Bridgerton bouquets, perhaps. The place cards, created by Kate’s Calligraphy, are hand-deckled to offer rough edges that are appealing and rich. Ribbons can be used in place of the tassels, if desired. @kates_calligraphy

“Flawless, My Dear” If you’ve been watching “Bridgerton” on Netflix, and who hasn’t, you know the feeling of elegance conveyed by the setting in early 19th-century London. Apotheca Flowers used the show as inspiration for a special Bridgerton collection. Above is the “Lady Whistledown”; right is the “Bridgerton Bouquet.” A great choice for a themed wedding, or any wedding. @apothecaflowers

Rustic Charm Evoking the feeling of bygone days, this farmhouse bottle caddy provides a stylish container for flowers. Here, it’s a gathering of white spray roses, astilbe and lisianthus blossoms set against the blue of the bottles. A trendy choice for centerpieces at a rustic wedding or, as this one was used, for a bridal “girls’ weekend.” @paisleyfloraldesignstudio

As popular as donuts are for weddings, they can be kinda boring. Not so with Bird Food Baking Co. donuts. Theirs are “prodigious, delicious and never disappointing.” They also have a modern art vibe. The unusual varieties include Lavender blueberry, mimosa and espresso Irish cream. And for the toppers — not just sprinkles, but French toast bites, toasted marshmallow and bacon, to name just a few. @birdfoodbakingco

An artist’s spatula was used to create the buttercream roses and vines on this three-tier cake. The artist, Shara Hill of Chickadee Hill Cakes, also created the handmade fondant sugar flowers. The cake layers are iced with streaked pastel Italian meringue buttercream. Just right for a fall wedding, or for any season. @chickadeehillcakes

Fresh Take Nature-themed wedding cakes are increasingly popular. For an outdoor wedding at NH Audubon in Concord, Michael Cicchetti created this cake with a woodland theme. He used dried pods, figs, milkweed pods, succulents and fresh thyme sprigs. @michael.t.cicchetti

FAVORITE MOMENT FOR CLAIRE:

Right after we walked down the aisle, we waited at the back of the chapel for everyone else to walk down the aisle. Everyone was crying and hugging and just so full of love. I will never forget it! FAVORITE MOMENT FOR JONATHAN:

Seeing the beautiful bride during our first look. BIGGEST SURPRISE: We had to cancel our big wedding scheduled for June 2020 at the Barn on the Pemi, and as the months dragged on, we didn’t want to end the year not being married. We made some calls and planned this wedding in four weeks. IF YOU COULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN:

How committed our friends and family were to help us with logistics for the weekend (boat rides, liquor store runs, cooking, etc.).

BIGGEST SURPRISE:

IF YOU COULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN:

You know that magical feeling that can come when there’s a fresh blanket of snow on a winter’s eve? This inspiration shoot captures that feeling perfectly. Planner Emma Bogardus and her talented team created a clean, chic aesthetic and combined it with a sprinkle of fairy dust. The goal, Bogardus says, was bringing delicate and modern details into a winter elopement. Creative direction and design: By Emma B Photography: Carolina Marles Photography

New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE | 37

38 | New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE

For the wedding papers, a warm, organic aesthetic was the aim. Created by Emily Rose Ink, different shades of warm white and taupe were paired with an earthy gray for the text and illustrations. Handmade paper and sketchbook-style illustrations mimicked the layers of lace on the table and the unique light fixtures. The layers of pressed flowers, lace, loose script and floral sketches, paired with modern text, created the overall impression of a modern keepsake album. What better for a winter wedding than a satin ballgown? This one, from Blush Bridal & Formal, is a strapless A-line with a high slit and train. Oh, and there are pockets too. The bride’s makeup, by The Crown Boutique, is a simple, clean look, with a soft, romantic, slightly smoky eye and a nude lip. This beribboned bouquet, by Emily Herzig Floral Studio, is the perfect match for the clean lines of the gown. And it’s on-trend in its petite size, combining just a few varieties — ranunculus, calcinia and sweet peas. Boutonnières to match. All just right for a winter wedding. New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE | 39

The couple ties the knot in a City Hall ceremony before a sleek limo takes them to a celebration at Portland’s Blind Tiger, an updated 19th-century guest house and social gathering space that is a striking mix of historic and contemporary.

40 | New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE

The welcome bags include wedding weekend details, room keys, guests’ favorite snacks and a celebratory split of bubbly.

New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE | 41

With its monochromatic palette, the tablescape presents a snowy, elegant, modern look. The tablecloth, layers of lace. The place settings, lace-edged dinnerware, velvet napkins and clear glassware. The place cards, by Emily Rose Ink, layered paper with a floral sketch to match the invitation suite. The centerpieces of white anemones, ranuculus, calcinia and sweet peas were created by Emily Herzig Floral Studio. 42 | New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE

Framing the tablescape is a stunning woodland installation of branches and florals that surrounds the couple. Also created by Emily Herzig Floral Studio, the structure is made from Vermont-grown pussy willow branches, white birch twigs and fresh moss. Adorning it are anemones, ranunculus, calcinia, sweet peas, and French and parrot tulips, all perfect for late winter in New England.

New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE | 43

The couple enjoys a pause in the celebration with the elegant offerings from Perfect Pour — perhaps an espresso martini or a cortado made of espresso and warm milk. The mobile espresso bar also has favorites like cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate and spiked cider to warm your guests on a winter’s day.

44 | New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE

The winter theme continues with the monochromatic cake by Henny B Cakes. With its sharp edges and clean lines, it echoes the large square floral installation of white and natural-toned flowers over the tablescape. The sharp edges are softened by flowers and birds that are consistent with the winter season. The clear risers add to the aesthetic. A delicious complement to the stunning wedding cake — a coquito, made of rum, coconut, milk and spices. Topped with a cinnamon stick and set in a tray that carries on the winter theme, it adds another dash of elegance.

Whether it’s the height of summer or the midst of winter, The Horse & Hound Inn in Franconia offers an idyllic setting for a destination wedding. Set on eight acres in the shadow of Cannon Mountain, the historic inn has hosted weddings since the 1940s. Sorrell Downing of Events By Sorrell led a team of pros in creating a wedding perfect for any season. Planning and Design / Events By Sorrell Photography / Kate Preftakes Photography

New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE | 49

The wedding suite, by Nikisha King Design House, reflects the North Country location, with a drawing of the inn and the mountains that surround it. For the invitation, an image of the inn is on one side, the event details on the other side. That way, it can be framed and saved as a memento. A timeline for overnight guests notes the activities of each day using a custom illustration for each.

50 | New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE

The icy blue and white palette of the wedding suite is carried on by the bridal bouquet, created by Clementina Floral Co. Clematis, penny cress, preserved oak leaves, delphinium and majolica roses combine to stunning effect.

New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE | 51

The warmth of a rustic farm table is paired with the cool elegance of the blue, silver and white for this tablescape. Mismatched vintage china plates, goblets and silver-plated flatware, supplied by Gooseberry Tabletop, make a timeless statement. Icy blues, soft creams and romantic greenery are used in the table garland. The florals — Playa Blanca roses, delphinium, clematis, thistle and Mount Tacoma tulips. Created by Cake in the Cupboard, the silver-accented blue and white marbled cake topped with creamy tulips, delphinium and Keira garden roses is for display, keeping it visually perfect throughout the day. A cutting cake would be used for the guests.

52 | New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE

A birch arbor with a mossy rock wall and forest as a backdrop creates a romantic setting for the ceremony. The florals include abundant smilax vine, white garden roses and preserved bougainvillea. The bride’s dress is elegantly draped, with cascading ruffles and a highlow hem.

New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE | 53

The ever-popular food truck, this one from Bitchin’ Kitchen, can provide an informal, yet elegant, feast. Here, there is an overflowing lobster roll with light lemon dill mayo on a buttered brioche bun and mini black bean cakes topped with ginger dressing, chevre goat cheese and toasted almonds. The latter is the appetizer version of the signature dish at their restaurant, Cold Mountain Café in Bethlehem.
