CONSTRUCTION HAS BEGUN AT THE LIBRARY
Updated entrance and expanded third floor work taking place at the library We are excited to announce that construction at McKee Library has begun. Third Floor McKee Library’s third floor is undergoing a major renovation. This space will be the future home of the Tutoring Center and the Writing Center. The Lincoln Library will receive a new space for all of the library’s special collections. This space will be open for research and study. A large general purpose classroom and restrooms will complete the third floor. Tutoring Center Location The temporary location for the Tutoring Center office is Room 149 on the library’s
main floor. Tutoring will take place in the space outside the office until construction is complete. Appointments are virtual until August. Writing Center Location The Writing Center will remain in its current location until construction is complete. After moving to the third floor, the previous Writing Center space will transition to general study space and reference. Front Entrance McKee Library will receive a new two-story front entrance in the coming months. The second floor of this space will be a new sun room-style reading area.
We are excited for this new space that will increase natural light and study space in the building. Temporary Entrance During the front entrance construction process, a temporary entrance will be established on the Knowledge Commons wall. Circulation Desk The circulation desk will be relocated to the area nearest the temporary entrance during construction of the new entryway at the front of the building.
