JAMES L. FULLER COLLECTION
McKee Library digitizes collection of 19th century documents The James L. Fuller Collection of manuscripts from the 19th century have been digitized are available on KnowledgeExchange@Southern, the university’s institutional repository. Included in the collection are personal letters, legal documents, and bills of sale for slaves. Although this is a small collection, its contents, especially the bills of sale, are historically significant and useful teaching tools for several academic departments. This collection was only recently discovered because it had been erroneously grouped with the Thomas Memorial Collection in the 1970s. Upon closer inspection, it was made clear due to the inclusion of a note that the contents in that particular box were from a separate donor. The library’s archival assistant, Abby Hansen, digitized, interpreted, and transcribed the collection materials. Detailed descriptions and document transcriptions are included with each manuscript’s photograph. The creation of a finding aid and further research into the collection’s provenance and history will be done in the coming months. The collection can be viewed on KnowledgeExchange@Southern at knowledge.e.southern.edu/ fullercollection. Hoovers D&B
Hoovers D&B is a company and industry research database, organized into six modules: build a company list, browse news, find contacts, research industries, explore triggers, and analyze markets. It covers over 130 million global, public and private firms, with company and industry overviews, SWOT, financial, and analyst reports. The “Building a Company List� module allows you to build a targeted list of companies using over 175 search and segmentation filters, providing an overview of the companies, with key contacts and triggers. The news module searches over 18,000 regional and international publications.

In addition, you can build a contact list using 200 search and segmentation filters. Moreover, you can research industries by searching by name, code, source, or description. Included in the industry reports are summaries, news items, peer analysis, industry activities, analyst reports, market research reports, and RMA industry norms. Furthermore, you can monitor business events that represent selling opportunities and significant developments and analyze market forecasts and trends regionally and globally.

From Vault A collection of materials on the history of the Jewish people is now on display.
About the Items A display of selected works about the history of the Jews is on display on the library’s main floor. This display was curated by Brandy Surrall, senior history student and McKee Library intern. Titles include Buried Cities Recovered (1883) by Frank S. DeHass, D.D., The Jewish People in the Time of Jesus Christ, Volume 1 (1924) by Emil Shurer, D.D., Jersusalem: From the Earliest Times to AD 70, Volume 1 (1908) by George Adam Smith, and The Lord’s Land (1876) by Henry B. Ridgaway, D.D.
