MARGE SEIFERT SCHOLARSHIP
McKee Library continues to award student workers with scholarship fund In June of 2010, the faculty and staff of McKee Library created the McKee Library Scholarship Fund with the purpose of aiding our student workers with tuition costs. In 2014, this fund became known as the Marge Seifert Scholarship, in honor of the beloved librarian who had recently retired after many years of service at McKee Library. This scholarship is available to students who have worked for the library a minimum of one year for 8 hours per week or more, maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, and meet the financial need qualification. Students are encouraged to apply and an internal committee makes the final decision based on the student’s short essay response and a recommendation from her direct supervisor. To date, this fund has awarded a total of $4,750 to 11 students.
Donations If you would like to contribute to the Marge Seifert Scholarship fund, please go to southern.edu/give, choose “Other” from the drop down menu, and type in Marge Seifert Scholarship when prompted. Employees who would like to donate via payroll deduction can do so by filling out this form. LIBKEY NOMAD
Google Chrome browser extension quickly connects you to McKee Library content LibKey Nomad is a Google Chrome browser extension that automatically provides instant links to full text content for articles subscribed to by McKee Library -or open access alternatives - as you do research on the web and come across literature. In each case, Nomad works with McKee Library to figure out the fastest path to content across thousands of publisher websites. Special enhancement is also performed in-line on sites like PubMed and Wikipedia. After installation, LibKey Nomad prompts you to select your subscribing institution. After that, it simply automatically scans for
