VIRTUAL TUTORING
Writing Center and Tutoring Center appointments continue online. The Writing Center and Tutoring Center will continue to provide online tutoring this summer. Students will create appointments using our online scheduler, https:// southern.mywconline.com. Tutors will use Zoom for their appointments. Since the move online at the end of March, the Writing Center and Tutoring Center tutors have held 770 appointments. Of those who completed a survey after their appointment, 99% rated the session “good” or “excellent.” Here are several of the comments provided about the tutoring sessions: • Thank you for making me feel that I matter. You went out of your way to help me with such a difficult issue. You were kind and professional. I am so grateful that I chose you to help me. Thank you!!! May God continue
to bless you. My tutor was competent and explained what she knew. She quickly researched what she did not know, letting me know she did not want to mislead. She sent several links, resourcing me with guides for my paper. The questions I came into the session with were answered. She also encouraged me to contact the center again as needed. I am grateful for her help! For more information about the services provided by the Writing Center and Tutoring Center, contact the director, Sonja Fordham (sfordham@southern.edu). •
