After 21 years of service at McKee Library, Carol Harrison is retiring. Carol has been the welcoming face of McKee Library for over two decades and will be greatly missed by the library team,
New Circulation Manager The library team is excited to welcome Mica Myers as McKee Library’s circulation manager beginning May 23. Mica Myers graduated from Southern Adventist University in 2019 with a Bachelors in Music Education. Since graduation, Mica has worked
as a teacher in Michigan, Georgia, and Tennessee. She is excited to re-join the McKee Library team after working at the library while pursuing her undergraduate degree. During her free time, Mica likes to be outdoors, FaceTime her nieces, spend time with her cats, and play trombone in community ensembles. Writing Center The Writing Center will be open throughout the summer for in person and online appointments. Monday - Thursday 2 pm - 5 pm Friday 9 am - 12 pm Tutoring Center The Tutoring Center will offer online tutoring appointments throughout the summer. The Tutoring Center office will be closed May 9 through July 31. Library Instruction To request library instruction for your summer courses, please contact Bethany Howard at bfhoward@southern.edu.

Tools&Resources ArtStor
ArtStor features millions of high-quality images and media from some of the world’s top photo archives, museums, libraries, scholars, and artists, including rare materials not available anywhere else. ArtStor’s collections also include Open Access collections from partner museums freely available to all. All content in ArtStor is rights-cleared for education and research — you are free to use it in classroom instruction, handouts, presentations,
student assignments, and other noncommercial educational and scholarly activities. With approximately 300 collections composed of over 2.5 million images (and growing), scholars can examine wide-ranging material such as Native American art from the Smithsonian, treasures from the Louvre, and panoramic, 360-degree views of the Hagia Sophia in a single, easy-to-use resource. ArtStor also supports
study across disciplines, including anthropology from Harvard’s Peabody Museum, archaeology from Erich Lessing Culture and Fine Art Archives, and modern history from Magnum Photos. In addition, unlike results from Google or other search engines, images from ArtStor come with high-quality metadata from the collection catalogers, curators, institutions, and artists themselves.

Southern Adventist University’s yearbook from the year 1938
Southern Adventist University’s yearbook from the year 1938 is part of McKee Library’s online archives in Knowledge Exchange. About the Yearbooks Southern’s first yearbook, The Southland, was published in 1923. There were no yearbooks published from 1931 through 1937. The yearbook’s name was changed to The Triangle in 1938. It received its current name, Southern Memories, in 1945. The Southern Memories (1953 to present) yearbooks have not yet been digitized. We are missing the 1930 yearbook. If you have a copy and wouldn’t mind sharing it with McKee Library, please send a message to jspears@southern.edu.
