Letter from the Morris Catholic High School Board of Trustees Chair We are proud to present the 2023 update of the Morris Catholic High School Strategic plan, sharing what we have completed and will accomplish during the final push over the next five years. Morris Catholic High School is a strong and vibrant school but we also recognize the importance of constantly improving and strengthening our school so we can continue to attract stellar and diverse students and faculty. Since 1957, Morris Catholic High School has delivered an exceptional and individualized education while instilling Catholic values in its students. Over 7,000 outstanding men and women have graduated from our beautiful campus in Denville, NJ. Our school remains small by design which ensures every student receives our full attention. Every faculty who walks through our doors each morning is committed to living the principles outlined in our mission statement: Morris Catholic challenges each student to work to his/her highest potential through a rigorous academic program, an emphasis on service to others, and the formation of the individual’s unique character through the knowledge of the love of Christ. By adhering to these principles, the Morris Catholic community ensures that “every student matters.” With your continued support, this plan will enable us to impart faith formation and academic excellence that has always been the hallmark of a Morris Catholic education. STRATEGIC PILLARS Our growth plan for the next five years is focused on five strategic pillars: ● Enhanced Catholic Identity ● Academic Excellence ● Vibrant Student Life ● Superior Facilities ● Exceptional Faculty These strategic pillars will be supported by a foundation of governance, leadership and stewardship. These foundational activities will lead to a sustained enrollment of 550 students by 2025. We also remain firmly committed to improving the diversity of our students, faculty and board members.

● Grow participation in the Spiritual Life Committee (SLC) to include planning of on campus and off campus retreats, service opportunities, and spiritual services.
● Expand STREAM offerings incorporating curriculum, professional development, and community partnerships to develop 21st Century skills.
● All faculty and staff are given the tools to focus on the entire needs of all students, including Body, Mind, and Spirit, focusing on Mental health. ● Continue to provide diverse opportunities for all students to participate in the life of the Church and fully understand the Sacramental Life of the Church. ● Increase the number of opportunities for students, faculty, and parents to deepen their faith through on and off campus retreats and volunteer opportunities.
● Continue to provide teachers with professional development opportunities focused on the needs of our school community focused on every student's ability level that nurtures and develops every learning style. ● Develop multiple internship and enrichment programs where students can continue their learning and gain experience outside the classroom. ● Continue to strengthen Advanced Track Curriculum programs such as the Advanced Science Program and the Advanced Humanities Program to include curricular, career mentoring and enrichment activities.
●Introduce campus leadership programs such as Model UN, the Hugh O’Brien Leadership Program, Future Business leaders and TREPS. ●Continue to expand and refine the summer camp programs that include academics, athletics and the fine and performing arts. Superior Facilities In Progress: ●Identify and update current student and faculty spaces that need upgrading such as bathrooms, storage spaces and common rooms. ●Research opportunities for better utilization of the current facilities to be able to advantage of current unutilized spaces through the building. ●Focus on updating the 5 year facilities plan that includes technology infrastructure.

October 3, 2023 The Morris Catholic High School class of 2023 achieved tremendous success with regards to college acceptances and scholarships. From the class of 108 students, 94% are attending a 4-year college, 5% are attending a 2-year school or trade school, and 1% entered directly into the workforce. The college bound students were accepted into over 400 schools and were awarded $28,260,560 in scholarships and grants. Impressively, 87% of our students received academic or athletic scholarships. Of those students, 74% were awarded scholarships in excess of $100,000. Our students are attending many high quality schools, including Harvard University, Cornell University, Johns Hopkins University, Rutgers University, Penn State University, Purdue University, Fordham University, Colgate University, Rhode Island University,Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Emory University, Sacred Heart University, Seton Hall University, the Rochester Institute of Technology, The University of Scranton, the University of Alabama, New York University, The University of Pittsburgh, and many more. As evidenced by the above-outlined successes from the Morris Catholic High School class of 2023, Morris Catholic offers a strong, academic college preparatory program in a faith-based setting that allows students to flourish to meet their full potential. New Faculty Bios This year, we welcomed a few new faculty and staff members. Please join me in helping them feel at home here at Morris Catholic Mary Lou DeCaprio Mrs. Mary Lou DeCaprio has joined our Science Department here at Morris Catholic. Mary Lou began her career as a chemist and transitioned to teaching science at the High School level. This year, Mrs. DeCaprio will teach Biology and Chemistry and bring her real-world experience to her classroom at Morris Catholic. Knights of Columbus Teacher of the Year award while at St. Virgil's and Governor's EOY twice while at Sussex County Charter. In addition to her experience, Mary Lou has done a great deal of work in bringing STEM to the classroom, and we look forward to lending her expertise to our Science Department. Trevor Kresofsky We welcome Mr. Trevor Kresofsky, who joins our Math Department teaching Geometry this year. Trevor first worked with students in an enrichment camp connected to his local church in his hometown of South Orange. He graduated from Seton Hall University and was involved in Greek Life. He also works with students in college exam prep, which helps him emphasize to his students the part of Geometry to remember for successful standardized test taking. We welcome Trevor to our faculty this year.
Shirlene DuJack Ms. Shirlene DuJack is joining Morris Catholic this year in our Fine and Performing Arts Department. Shirlene taught Visual Arts in a public school for 29 years: 22 years at the high school level and seven years at the elementary and middle school levels. This year, Shirlene will teach Graphic Design and Visual Arts classes. She also absolutely loves the outdoors, fishing and hiking. Trout fishing is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Dad holds the state record for the largest Brook trout caught in NJ. We welcome Shirlene to our faculty.
New Faculty Bios Emily Baricevic We are happy to announce that Emily (Rogic) Baricevic, Class of 1993, has returned to Morris Catholic as our Head Girls Soccer Coach Emily is the most accomplished scorer in the history of the women's soccer program at Manhattan, finishing with a program-record 40 goals and 95 points. In large part to Rogic, Manhattan scored a program-record 53 goals and won 11 matches, the program standard for over 20 years. Emily was inducted into the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2019. Please help welcome Emily back to Morris Catholic.
Karen Shaw Mrs. Karen Shaw is the new Administrative Assistant in our Guidance Department. Mrs. Shaw has a vast array of administrative assistance experience in various settings.
Mrs. Barbara McKenna We welcome Mrs. Barbara McKenna as our School Nurse. Barbara is a RN with over 20 years of experience. Before becoming a Certified School Nurse, she worked as a Maternity nurse at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston. Mrs. McKenna is working towards her Masters Degree to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has two children and two dogs and is a Cornerstone Sister at St. Therese in Succasunna. We are so happy Mrs. McKenna has joined us at Morris Catholic.

Letter from the President of Morris Catholic High School As we conclude another extraordinary academic year at Morris Catholic, it is with great pleasure and gratitude that I write to share the fruits of our collective labor. In keeping with our motto, 'Every Student Matters,' I want to emphasize the
significant strides our school has made; thanks in no small part to your generous support. Student Achievements This year, our students have continued to excel in both academics and extracurricular activities:
● Scholarship Awards & Grants Offered to the Class of 2023 was $28,260,560 for 107 graduating seniors. ● 74% of the class of 2023 were awarded scholarships in excess of $100,000. ● Our Valedictorian, Mary Korab, is attending Harvard University on a full ROTC scholarship. Our Salutorian, Justin Bondarowicz, attends Medical School at Jagiellonian University Medical College in Cracow, Poland. ● Our sports teams had exceptional seasons, but especially our Girls' Basketball team, which won the State
Championship and is currently ranked #5 in the nation while the majority are on the Honor Roll, demonstrating excellence not just in the classroom but also on the field.
