Welcome to the 2020 RSM Classic and thank you for choosing to join us - even if it’s virtually this year! It’s certainly been a year like no other. While everyone involved is extremely disappointed that we will not be able to welcome spectators and give them an opportunity to experience the genuine Southern hospitality for which our area is renowned, our team is convinced this was the responsible decision. And, we are excited that we will still be able to showcase the beautiful Golden Isles and Sea Island Golf Club to an international audience through our media partners. I am extremely proud and appreciative of the work and support of our staff, volunteers and partners as we navigate through these unprecedented times. For those individuals working onsite, we have an extensive health and safety plan for screening and testing in place, including daily mandatory health questionnaires and temperature readings as well as COVID-19 testing for players, caddies and personnel working in specific areas. In addition, we are requiring face coverings, hand washing and sanitizing, social distancing and enhanced cleaning protocols in all areas of tournament operations in accordance with best practices. We are extremely excited to be following the Masters Tournament this year and look forward to introducing some of the world’s elite professional golfers to the Golden Isles for the first time. The RSM Classic is the largest fundraising event of the Davis Love Foundation. Since its inception, this Official PGA TOUR Event has raised more than $17.6 million for charities including Special Olympics (national, state and local), the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Georgia, and other local, regional and national charities.

2020 has been an unprecedented year. The global pandemic has changed the way we do things and interact with one another at all levels of our lives, and this year’s RSM Classic is no exception. While the 2020 tournament is taking place with a limited number of people onsite, we’ve put in place some new and interesting ways for golf enthusiasts to engage with this year’s event via online channels, bringing the tournament to more people than ever before. While some things are certainly different with this year’s tournament, some remain the same. Recent additions of new accommodations at The Lodge, a new Golf Performance Center and completely redesigned Plantation Course underscore our ongoing commitment to golf at Sea Island. This long par four is set up by the drive. Players must play far enough left to avoid the large oak trees that can inhibit the second shot on this hole, while avoiding the marsh to the left. Set upon the Atlantic, wind is always a factor here and while there are no bunkers guarding the green, marsh runs the entire left side making the swales right of the green a common place to play third shots.

Friends of the Foundation Friends of Davis Love Foundation is a program administered by the Davis Love Foundation that helps raise money for charities participating in the program. Each participating charity sells raffle tickets. Raffle participants have a chance to win a car from Nalley Buick GMC Brunswick. Charity Putting Challenge presented by RSM US LLP On Tuesday, November 17 five teams of two pros each will compete in the annual RSM Charity Putting Challenge. While the structure will be different this year, it is sure to be an entertaining event that raises money for charities focused on children and families. Five teams consisting of two pros each will compete in a 9-hole putting challenge on the Speedway Putting Course at Sea Island Golf Clubs. The RSM Birdies Fore Love program is a giving platform tied to The RSM Classic, focused on supporting organizations that help build the middle market leaders of tomorrow. The program has two primary components:
Birdies Fore Love – RSM employee giving challenge Each year RSM owners and employees raise funds for local charities aligned with the missions of the RSM US Foundation and the Davis Love Foundation. In 2019, the program raised more than $3.8 million for more than 70 charities in the communities where RSM employees live and work. The strong fundraising through Birdies Fore Love, coupled with matching contributions from the RSM US Foundation and proceeds from the tournament, has brought the program total to more than $17 million donated over the ten years of the tournament.
Birdies Fore Love – PGA TOUR on-course competition In collaboration with the PGA TOUR, RSM Birdies Fore Love will again donate over $1 Million to charitable organizations through an on-course competition over the first eleven events of the 2020-21 PGA TOUR Season. In addition to weekly winners, the top three players who accumulate the most birdies (or better) throughout those first eleven events will earn $300,000, $150,000 and $50,000, respectively, for children- or familyfocused charitable organizations of each player’s choice. Last year, Scottie Scheffler (139 birdies or better) won the overall program, followed by Lanto Griffin (138) and Denny McCarthy (135). Scheffler chose to spread the love and donate $200,000 to the Davis Love Foundation, $50,000 to the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation and $50,000 to Triumph Over Kids Cancer. Both Griffin and McCarthy have chosen to use their donations to start their own foundations to support youth in their communities.
