Welcome to Sea Island! Once again, we are delighted to host the RSM Classic, now in its ninth year. As it has been from the beginning, its success is due to the passion and effort of hundreds of volunteers, the sponsors, patrons, RSM, and of course our own Davis Love III, Mark Love, Todd Thompson, and the tournament staff. The support and leadership of the RSM team continue to spark the involvement of other sponsors and patrons. We value their partnership, as well as the commitment of the entire community. Everyone involved is part of an exceptional tournament that makes a difference in the lives of many through the benefiting charities. The new pool, pool house, and six new cottages with 14 new sleeping rooms debuted this month. In addition, our new 17,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Golf Performance Center is nearing completion. Opening early next year, it will feature one of the most spectacular settings for learning and practicing anywhere in the world. Birdies Fore Love The RSM Birdies Fore Love program is a giving platform tied to The RSM Classic, focused on supporting organizations that help build the middle market leaders of tomorrow. The program has two primary components: Birdies Fore Love – RSM employee giving challenge Each year during the run-up to The RSM Classic, RSM partners, principals and employees raise funds for local charities aligned with the missions of the RSM US Foundation and the Davis Love Foundation. In 2017, the program raised more than $2 million for more than 70 charities in the communities where RSM employees live and work. The strong fundraising through Birdies Fore Love, coupled with matching contributions from the RSM US Foundation and proceeds from the tournament, has brought the program total to more than $9 million donated over the eight years of the tournament. Birdies Fore Love – PGA TOUR giving (new this fall!) In collaboration with the PGA TOUR, RSM Birdies Fore Love will donate $500,000 to charitable organizations through an on-course competition over the first eight events of the 2018-19 PGA TOUR Season. The top three players who accumulate the most birdies (or better), will earn $300,000, $150,000 and $50,000, respectively, for children- or familyfocused charitable organizations of each player’s choice. Competition begins with the Safeway Open in Napa, California, and concludes with The RSM Classic.
Friends of the Davis Love Foundation In the program’s first three years, almost $400,000 was raised for local charities established to help children and families. Participating charities raise money by selling raffle tickets for the chance to win a car from Nalley Automotive of Brunswick! 100% of raffle ticket sales are distributed back to participating charities. In addition, the Davis Love Foundation funds a $75,000 bonus pool divided among participating charities based upon the percentage of total money each charity raises.

This long par four is set up by the drive. Players must play far enough left to avoid the large oak trees that can inhibit the second shot on this hole, while avoiding the marsh to the left. Set upon the Atlantic, wind is always a factor here and while there are no bunkers guarding the green, marsh runs the entire left side making the swales right of the green a common place to play third shots.

Long hitters can carry the fairway bunker stretching across the left side to have a shot at reaching this par five. For those unable to carry the bunker, they must play right on the tee shot and lay up for a short third shot. The raised green is very well protected with bunkers left and right and back hole locations can provide a very difficult two putt.

This signature hole requires thinking on the tee. With a tidal creek running the entire left side of the driving area, players will hit their tee shots out to the right, but the farther right you play, the longer the second shot to the well protected green. A bunker protects the green on the front, right side while a false front runs the entire left side.

A great finishing hole that requires both length and accuracy off the tee. At 470 yards, players have to negotiate fairway bunkers both right and left to have a second shot into the green protected by bunkers both left and front right. A great finishing hole that can provide great shots for a dramatic finish.

Charity Putting Challenge Wednesday, November 14 4pm Driftwood Putting Course A group of 12 PGA TOUR professionals each team up with a Special Olympics athlete and a Boys and Girls Club participant for this exciting putting competition. Participants will compete in a “Closest to the Pin” contest with 13 finalists qualifying for a one-shot Challenge Round. The finalist who hits their shot closest to the pin will win a two-night stay at the Sea Island Resort plus a round of golf.
