How did you get into design?

My Mother had a fantastic flair for Interior Design and she was always fascinated with our home growing up.

I soon discovered it was hereditary! I found my gift. In my adult life I was serendipitously given experiences to guide me this way.

How would you describe your home?

My home has an Arts & Crafts design. I love to entertain, so that is a strong theme too. I’m also a big collector of wine paraphernalia. My career and hobbies have included, textile design, stain glass crafts and art gallery management. All of these hobbies are reflected in my home.

What trend are you loving right now?

My favorite color is blue, and always has been. I love that navy blue is the new black! Kitchen cabinets – yes please.

What is your favorite furniture piece you have ever sold?

I’ve sold these fun swivel chairs a few times in some bright colors. I find they are best sold in pairs because they are complimentary mirror images of each other in a Left arm and Right arm.

DESIGNER TIPS FOR CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER Avoid using potentially harmful cleaners, such as oil based soaps, detergents, solvents etc. It will stain and darken leather, instead just wipe with a damp cloth to remove dust and spills.

Avoid placing leather furniture in direct sunlight, you want to monitor the temperature of the room where leather is. If it’s too cold, or too hot, the leather will get dry and crack. For example place your furniture away from air conditioners and heat sources.

Apply a leather protector for new furniture right away.

You want to use a conditioner every 6-12 months.

Avoid animals on furniture as they can scratch the leather. Some leathers, like wax leathers, can be gently buffed using the warmth of your fingers but some leathers can be damaged permanently from your furry friends nails.

Spot test: If you’re trying a new cleaning method try a hidden area first.

For oil spills, or grease stains wipe with a clean dry cloth and then leave it alone.

If an accident occurs beyond your capabilities call a professional!
