The classics have been refreshed with Miramont. Rooted in traditional furniture designs and giving a nod to French Art Deco forms, the group features elegant pieces that bring drama and vitality to any home. Serpentine curves and fluting are evident delivering bold shapes and lines while unique molding and overlay details showcase the collection's commitment to craftsmanship.

Inspiration This glamorous transitional collection is inspired by classic forms with a slight French Art Deco antecedent. Fluid pieces feature shape and movement, creating a collection that is handsome and refined.

Artistry Movement abounds in Miramont.

Serpentine curves and fluting are apparent, bringing unique shapes and lines to living spaces. The collection features distinctive molding and overlay details, too.

Accents Accents include a nickel-plated Argento metal finish in a warm silver tone.

Additional details include reeding, lasercut molding overlays and button tufting on fabrics.

Hardware Nickel-plated knobs and pulls have a warm silver finish that provides a high-end appeal. All of the hardware complements the high-sheen finishes, giving the collection a more formal look.

Wood & Finish Cherry veneers are finished in a rich, Dark Sable and accented with a silver outline while a “fancy face� ash burl veneer with unique swirls and knots adds drama. The time-honored technique of silver leafing is on display in this collection and is finished in a luxe Silver Sand.

Completing the look is a champagne hued metal in an Argento finish.

Fabrics Subtle texture and pattern create interest in the fabrics of this collection. A soft, creamy fabric with a muted striae effect adorns the upholstered bed and bench. Dining chairs feature either a gray velvet for richness and warmth or a unique reptile pattern in a silvery color tone for drama.

LOTTERY HOME

Stars lottery marked its 24th year this past January. This fundraiser raises money every year for STARS air ambulance and every year it is put to good use, from the oxygen used on this helicopter to the helmets worn by the crew. McElheran’s is proud to partner with STARS Lottery show homes. This is the 9th year McElherans has worked with Beauideal Inc on these beautiful show homes. Recently Jeff McElheran was able to talk with Jacquie and Kasia about this year’s beautiful show home.

What has been your design inspiration this year?

We started with hardwood floors, we went with a wire brushed oak, very light in color and then the blue kitchen cabinets came next, we saw these at Westridge and then we visited you at McElheran’s and we went with a west coast kind of feel for the furniture.

What’s your favorite room in the home?

The kitchen, I think that’s a favorite room for many people, a place where you can congregate and you can socialize and usually it’s over food and drink and good times are always had. The master bedroom furniture, to us, is just not busy, it’s very relaxed, it exudes a feeling of calm and that was imperative for us to have and portray in the master bedroom. The dining room furniture is the very same, its relaxed and it’s elegant but not stuffy.

It all ties in, like all of the styles, the distressed, the not fussy, not ornate, it just all bodes well to the overall feel of the home.

Did you have any challenges on the project this year?

We have every year and it somewhat budget related. It is nice to know that even when everybody is on a budget, McElheran’s might not be their first place to go but you’ve been formidable in assisting with that budget and you’re very cognizant of people’s budgets and you assist in maintaining that budget and making sure we’re able to get really good product with a really nice style within the budget, it’s very rewarding.

IF A MATTRESS COULD TALK. Stories we have heard & experienced selling luxury beds.

I often like to pass along this personal story from a saleslady, Anne, who worked for us for many years. Anne had a gorgeous German Shepherd and this dog, like many others, had the same sleeping spot every night, which happened to be on the floor next to Anne’s bed. Years went by and Anne decided she needed a new mattress so she purchased a popular memory foam from us and quite enjoyed it. However soon after purchase, she noticed something curious about her dog’s usual sleeping routine. Her dog would now come into her bedroom when she went to bed, lie down on the floor for a little while and then would get up and go sleep the rest of the night in the living room. It seemed a little out of character but Anne didn’t think much of it at the time and assumed maybe he suddenly found it more comfortable in the living room. Fast forward several years and we bring in the Vispring line of natural mattresses from England. Anne was able to go tour the factory and see the quality of natural materials that go into a Vispring bed and was hooked. She ordered one for herself and then anxiously awaited its arrival. The new bed arrived and it was everything that she had hoped it would be. What was most interesting was that two days after the new bed was delivered Anne’s dog once again slept on the floor next to her bed all night long. I can’t tell you for certain why this happened but it has been proven that foam mattresses emit chemicals that we humans cannot detect.

Everyone knows a dog’s sense of smell is far better than any humans, so detecting these chemicals in the air would be no problem for them.

The only thing that changed in her bedroom was the mattress. I for one know that I don’t want to be spending 8 hours a night sleeping on something that is emitting chemicals into the air that I’m breathing all night and yet many people make this choice every day.
