In student council this year, TMSE has J. Mike Comer and Jasmine Kelly. The student council decided what fundraisers to students would do and other things like that. Mrs. Deanna Poe is in charge of the student council. J. Mike said student council is thinking about new ideas like helping the United Way and Boys and Girls Club through fundraisers.

Each classroom has jars that can be filled with coins by the students. “I feel it is a wonderful opportunity for are students to give to children especially girls, so they may get a education like we do,” she said. TMSE does fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for books, computers and various other things the school needs. However, Pennies for Peace money will go to Afghanistan and Pakistan. “I think they will use the money to build new schools,” Mrs. Gerkin said. “Fundraisers [like Pennies for Peace] are an easy, great and fun way to raise money,” Ms. Hester said.
