inter is approaching on Okinawa. The temperature is dropping, the humidity is fading and people are reaching for their jackets. However, winter in Okinawa tends to feel like a mild, tropical fall for many. Although the temperature may never get down to freezing and you may never see a snowflake tumble onto the ground, it doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on winter activities. Southern Hill Sports World has the perfect solution for anyone searching for a family adventure or just looking to do something different. The ice rink can get very cold, so make sure to pack your long johns, beanie, a pair of gloves (mandatory) and prepare yourself for a day of fun on the ice. Southern Hill Sports World also offers activities such as batting cages, a bedrock sauna, karaoke, bowling, a pool hall, table tennis and an izakaya,

where you can fill up on warm grub after a day of playing. The bedrock sauna is perfect for those who don’t enjoy the cold. With so many things to do, you can bring the whole family and everyone will enjoy themselves. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t know how to ice skate! Southern Hill Sports World offers iceskating lessons to help you learn. The classes are available for all age and skill levels. There is also the opportunity to rent out the entire ice rink for one to two hours, which could be ideal for a birthday party, unit event, or even ice hockey games. The possibilities for fun are endless, so grab the family or some friends and get going! Contact your local Tours+ office for tours (see p. 7 for one coming up November 29) and discounted tickets or visit mccsokinawa.com.tours.

For those ready to yield all kitchen duties, opt for one of the five full packages, all of which include your choice of turkey or ham with sides including herb-seasoned bread stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied yams, seasoned green beans, turkey gravy and your choice of pumpkin, pecan, apple or cherry pie.
