CHILD CARE REGISTRATION

www.militarychildcare.com is a Department of Defense website for military families seeking child care. This single online gateway provides access to a wide array of military-operated and military-subsidized child care options across all services. It enables families to search for and request care, manage their requests, and update their profile online, making it easier for families to find the child care they need.

SCHOOL AGE CARE (SAC)

SAC is available for children Kindergarten through 12 years. SAC programs are nationally accredited. All programs comply with DoD standards for staff qualifications, program quality, safety, sanitation and nutrition.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS (CDCs)

MCAS Beaufort and MCRD Parris Island CDCs offer full-time and hourly child care. Care is provided for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. These programs are nationally accredited. All CDCs comply with DoD standards for staff qualifications, program quality, safety, sanitation and nutrition.

Hourly Care services are offered at MCAS Beaufort CDC, MCRD Parris Island CDC, both School Age Care Programs and in FCC homes. Reservations are required in order to determine availability.

EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER PROGRAM (EFMP)

The primary purpose of the Marine Corps EFMP is to ensure that each family member's medical and educational needs are considered during the assignment process. By identifying families that may require accommodations to medical and educational needs, maximizing confidentiality, along with provision of services. EFMP has the ability to enhance the quality of life provided to the Marine Corps family in order to meet the mission.

SCHOOL LIAISON PROGRAM

The mission of the USMC School Liaison Program is to promote awareness of the unique educational needs of military connected children. School Liaisons provide military families and students with school transitions and academic support information and resources.

The Community Counseling Program utilizes a holistic approach to assist people in overcoming some of life’s most difficult challenges. We offer individual, couple, family, child and group counseling services.

FAMILY ADVOCACY PROGRAM (FAP)

The Family Advocacy Program responds to family and/or intimate partner maltreatment. The Family Advocacy Prevention and Education Program offers various evidenced based curriculum to teach Marines, Sailors and their families skills in order to prevent incidents of domestic violence and child abuse. Classes currently include “Married & Loving It!”, “Triple P Parenting for Parents of Teens”, “Anger Management for the 21st Century”, and “Coping with Work & Family Life Stress”.

NEW PARENT SUPPORT PROGRAM

The New Parent Support Program is an in-home family visitation program. Registered nurses and licensed social workers provide educational and supportive services to parents with children under the age of 6 years.

VICTIM ADVOCACY SERVICES

A Victim Advocate (VA) can assist adult and child victims of domestic abuse. Services often include crisis intervention, court and medical accompaniment, psychological support and acting as a liaison with Commanders. Advocacy liaison services are available 24 hours a day.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAM

The Substance Abuse Counseling Center provides a range of interventions and treatment services to active duty service members. Certified counselors provide a broad range of services to include prevention, education and treatment.

Alcohol Abuse Prevention offers an evidence based program aimed at reducing risk factors and increasing protective factors thus enhancing resiliency. The Prime for Life 4.5, in concert with military leadership, can reduce incidents of binge drinking, through an effective awareness and prevention program.

FAMILY MEMBER EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Family Member Employment Assistance Program (FMEAP) provides a variety of services to assist spouses and family members who are seeking employment or to enhance their careers. Services offered include one-on-one career coaching, career assessments and job search assistance/referral. Educational workshops are available on Resume Writing Tips, Job Interviewing Techniques, Federal Application basics and Spouse Transition Seminars.

VOLUNTARY EDUCATION PROGRAM (VEP)

Voluntary Education Program enhances the quality of life for Marines, Sailors and their family members by providing a wide range of services to support their professional, intellectual and recreational needs.

We encourage prospective students to contact us for academic advisements of any kind including educational opportunities, program and school choice, paying for college, basic skills improvement, testing, military apprenticeship program and more. Family members who are interested in attending school are also welcome to visit the Education Office for advice that will help them reach their goals such as My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA).

Tuition Assistance

Service members are eligible to receive tuition assistance to help cover the tuition costs of their education. Marines may receive up to $4,500 per year for a degree or certificate program with an accredited institution. SkillBridge

The Marine Corps SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Marines to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service.

Testing Services

Interest inventory/career assessment, GED, CLEP, DANTES, Excelsior College exams, proctored services for exams from other institutions, professional certification exams and Military Classification Exams are also available. Appointments are required for most exams.
