The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, conferred by the President of India, is a prestigious honor presented during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations. The awardees are selected by a Jury-cum-Awards Committee chaired by India’s Vice-President and the External Affairs Minister. This year, the committee honored outstanding individuals from the Indian diaspora for their excellence in fields such as business, education, medicine, and public affairs.

The 18th PBD Convention, held from January 8–10, 2025, brought together prominent members of the Indian diaspora from around the world. Professor Rane’s recognition during the Valedictory Session underscored his grassroots impact in Australia, where his work has improved the lives of marginalized communities and fostered inclusivity.
